Even with so little officially confirmed about it, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Legacy of the Forge DLC already looks like it could be a game-changer for the medieval RPG, both narratively and gameplay-wise. The story, which centers around the blacksmithing legacy of Henry's adoptive father, Martin, should have the depth both games in the series are known for, simply based on its premise. As far as gameplay goes, however, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Legacy of the Forge expansion could offer players a full-course meal if it really wanted to.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Henry Blacksmithing

Currently, there are plenty of expectations for Legacy of the Forge to deliver an experience similar to Kingdom Come: Deliverance's From the Ashes DLC, which allowed players to build and manage a small village. To that end, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's next DLC could see players running a forge for active or passive income, although there are also hopes that players will be granted other options for passive income, as well as one of the most-requested additions: player housing. Even if Legacy of the Forge did deliver those features, it wouldn't have to stop there either, as there are more than enough potential quality-of-life improvements the community has been asking for since the game launched in February.

Small Details That Could Change Immersion Completely

With Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 priding itself on being one of the most immersive gaming experiences players could ever have, it's strange that there are still plenty of things that manage to pull them out of that immersion rather effortlessly. One of the game's most requested quality-of-life changes would be the option to hide Henry's helmet during dialogue, as most of the helmets in the game make him look a bit goofy. It's understandable that this is probably not already a feature due to the immersion aspect of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but the fact that it can actually break immersion says something.

A change like this would make sense coming alongside Legacy of the Forge, being that it deals with Henry's equipment and all. The main reason this is such a big deal in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is that those who want to see Henry's face and not be forced out of immersion due to him wearing a steel bowl on his head can only do so by not having a helmet or coif equipped. As a result, Henry is subjected to major blows to the head, which can knock off a substantial chunk of health. The option to simply hide it, then, would remove this headache, pun intended.

Systems That Could Make Life Easier for Every Player

Legacy of the Forge could also add some highly requested features that are aimed at improving the flow of gameplay. Inventory management, for instance, is one of the areas where the DLC could truly make a difference, especially given how much it will revolve around crafting via Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's blacksmithing. The ability to mark items as "sell" or "keep" would save players from accidental losses and make shop interactions faster. Additionally, if Legacy of the Forge leans into a blacksmithing tycoon concept, an improved UI for crafting, sorting, and selling would naturally complement the new gameplay loop.

Other requested features involve improving overall utility, like adding the ability to set up camp anywhere or giving Mutt a dedicated control wheel for faster commands. While features like these aren't tied directly to the DLC's core premise, if Legacy of the Forge is a substantial upgrade to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it could still be the perfect excuse to see such features added to the game. Even if Legacy of the Forge can't make every one of these features happen, checking a few key ones off the list would go a long way toward cementing it as more than just another side story for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
