Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues the story of Henry, a blacksmith’s son caught in the chaos of 15th-century Bohemia. The game’s dedication to realism is what sets it apart, making every decision and action feel meaningful. While most RPGs let players eat food without consequences, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 takes a different approach by introducing food spoilage and poisoning mechanics.

Like weapons and clothing, food in the game degrades over time. Consuming spoiled food can result in poisoning, which can have severe effects on Henry. Below, you can find all the ways to cure food poisoning in the game.

How to Cure Food Poisoning In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Food poisoning can occur if you eat food with Freshness below 50. The quality of food turns orange when it drops below this threshold and later turns red, indicating that consuming it will have severe effects. Eating a small amount of spoiled food will only leave you poisoned for a short while, and you can sleep in a bed to recover. Since mild poisoning doesn’t last long, you can simply wait it out and rest until your health is fully restored.

However, if the poisoning is severe, you won’t be able to sleep or pass time, and a message will appear on your screen saying "You're too badly hurt, you need treatment". To identify if you are poisoned, check the right side of your health bar for a skull symbol alongside cutlery. In cases where resting isn’t enough, you’ll need better treatment—this is where Digestive Potions come in.

Not treating food poisoning for a long period will gradually drain your health, eventually leading to death.

There are two ways to acquire Digestive Potions. The first and simplest method is purchasing them from merchants, mainly Apothecaries. The earliest Apothecary you can find is Emmerich in Troskowitz, who sells one for 21.5 Groschen. If you have spare money, it's a good idea to stock up.

However, if you don’t have the funds to buy the potion, you can craft it yourself. While acquiring the recipe costs 215.5 Groschen, you don’t actually need it to make the potion.

To craft the potion, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Thistle - This can be acquired in the field right outside Apothecary Emmerich.
  • Nettle - You can buy this from Aranka in Nomad's Camp.
  • Charcoal - You can buy this from Apothecary Emmerich or Aranka.

After acquiring the materials, follow the steps below:

  • Add Water to the cauldron.
  • Add Thistle to the cauldron and boil for the duration of two hourglasses.
  • Pick up the Nettle, grind it using the Pestle, and put it in the cauldron.
  • Boil for the duration of one hourglass.
  • Pick up the Charcoal, grind it, and put it in the cauldron.
  • Pick up a Phial and pour the potion in.

Doing all the steps correctly will result in brewing a Digestive Potion for you to use.
