Armor is no simple thing in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, as a full outfit or armor set comprises many layers for each body part. Even for just the head alone, there is a helmet that needs to be worn with a coif and then players can bolster this with a mail collar.

There is a weekly Kuttenberg tournament in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but how does it work?
When thinking about the best armor in KCD2, the defensive stats are naturally the most important, but players should also consider weight, as being lighter and more agile can come in handy. Additionally, armor with high Charisma can help in conversations, potentially helping to avoid fights at all. Lastly, the appearance of armor should not be overlooked, and there's nothing wrong with opting for preferred aesthetics over slightly better stats.
Updated on September 16, 2025, by Joe Grantham: With the addition of KCD2's second major expansion, Legacy of the Forge, there are plenty of new armor items, as well as swords and outfits. While Henry cannot forge armor, he can hire an armorer to work for him once he's built the Armorer's Shelter upgrade for his forge. Henry can then take any Armor Sketches he finds and give them to his armorer, who will take a couple of in-game days to forge the new piece. Some of these new KCD2 DLC armor items are also sold by a few armorers. A few pieces of armor have also been nerfed, such as the Brunswick set.
Like weapons, each piece of armor comes in three tiers in KCD2. The armor listed here is all of tier 3, but players may loot slightly worse tier 2 versions.

How To Get New Legacy Of The Forge Armor
While some new armor pieces with the Legacy of the Forge DLC can be bought from normal Kuttenberg armorers, others are more special. Players will need to find Standa the Fly as part of the story, and then acquire enough Prestige and Groschen to get the Armorer's Shelter upgrade for Henry's Garden. Standa will then work here.
While completing quests related to the DLC, such as 'In the Service of the Guild', players will find armor sketches in bandit chests or receive them as rewards. Take these sketches to your armorer and ask him to make the custom piece. After a few days, players can return and purchase the completed item for a much cheaper price than other armor of a similar quality.
Best Helmets In KCD2
Protecting Henry's head is of the utmost importance, so getting one of the best helmets in KCD2 by any means should be a priority. Players should note that they will need a coif to wear a helmet. For helmets with visors, which typically rank among the best, players need to remember to lower their visor in combat.
