The Legacy of the Forge DLC is the game's second expansion, and although information is scarce at the moment, players are eager to be able to build a Kuttenburg forge from the ground up. The DLC is ripe with opportunities, offering a great chance to reflect on the past, since Henry’s adoptive father, Martin, was also a blacksmith. However, perhaps reflecting on the past isn't the only thing this DLC can achieve.
Legacy of The Forge’s arrival in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 seems like the ideal opportunity to explore the past through Henry’s eyes. However, the element of surprise can rest in the DLC’s capacity to look forward as well. Although Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3 is still far off, the early groundwork laid now can significantly influence the narrative, with even the smallest nuggets of information causing massive ripples of excitement and a boom in fan theories.

Laying Down the Foundation for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3
The wishlist for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3 is long and brimming with potential. With that wishlist comes a lot of speculation about what the central conflict may entail for players. With Bohemia’s succession somewhat at rest, the struggle between Wenceslas and Sigismund may be an old formula that could grow stale for players seeking something fresh.
Among the most popular theories is one that centers on the Hussite Wars, a pivotal period in Bohemia's history closely following the events of KCD and KCD2. And if the game actually does pivot into that period of significant civil strife, then that means that Henry’s posse may face significant challenges.
All Eyes on Hans Capon
The young Lord Hans Capon players met in KCD is inspired by a real-world historical figure, Jan Ptacek. The Kingdom Come: Deliverance games have reimagined him as a 20-year-old man who is best friends with Kingdom Come: Deliverance protagonist Henry. However, this reimagination has followed a similar political beat to the real Jan Ptacek’s life, including his alliance during the conflict between Sigismund and Wenceslaus. If Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3 takes place during the Hussite Wars, then a slightly matured Hans could declare his loyalty to the League of Lords against the Hussites. While this is just a fact of Bohemian history, the fictional version of the tale will likely put Henry to the test.
Jan Zizka: The Other Side of History
If Hans Capon represents one side of Bohemia’s future, Jan Zizka represents the other. A military powerhouse and devout Hussite, Zizka would go on to lead reformist forces across the Holy Roman Empire in a bloody and transformational civil war. He’s also a figure of deep moral conviction: one whose cause may appeal to Henry’s sense of justice. With his introduction in KCD2, KCD3’s setting would be incomplete without him, even if it pivots away from the Hussite war. However, since it is a likely route for the franchise, the split between Zizka and Capon could mark the beginning of Henry’s most difficult dilemma yet.
Henry Might Stand Between Brotherhood and Belief in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3
As Kingdom Come’ s story inches toward the Hussite Wars, Henry’s future may hinge not just on politics, but on personal bonds. Henry’s deep loyalty to Hans Capon drives him to stand by him at every moment; he’s loyal enough to romance Hans in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 if the player so chooses. But Jan Zizka represents an entirely different path: one that appeals to Henry’s values, his sense of justice, and possibly a new kind of brotherhood forged in fire. Since Henry bonded with Zizka on the battlefield, too, the stage is set for a devastating choice between two people who have shaped him.
A DLC Ripe for Stage Setting
KCD2's Legacy of the Forge doesn’t just offer a chance at a nostalgic return to blacksmithing for Henry. It could also quietly set the table for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3’s most compelling conflict. Whether through new characters, subtle political foreshadowing, or expanding Henry’s relationships with those around him, the DLC could seed the emotional tension that will one day erupt into a full-blown civil war. If Warhorse wants to give fans a glimpse of the storm to come, it would be best to strike when the iron is hot.
