The following guide has spoilers for the opening of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. If players haven't started the game and want to avoid spoilers, this is the point of no return.
During the opening sequence of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry and Hans Capon travel to Trosky to deliver a message to meet Otto von Bergow. With them is a retinue of men, whom players can get to know when the company stops to rest for the evening beside a beautiful pond. These men are: Oats, Tankard, Konrad, and Nicholas of Rattay.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - How To Go On Pilgrimage
Pilgrimages are a free way to increase your reputation in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2; here's how they work and how to complete them.
While they're mostly there to help reintroduce some game mechanics to new and returning players, each of them has a personality, goals, and hopes for the future. Players can get to know them pretty well in the game's first few minutes. Unfortunately, later on, a group of bandits storm into the camp and slaughter them.
It's a tragic moment for both Henry and Hans, who manage to escape. They promise to return to the area later and give them a proper Christian burial. Once the game really opens up, players can return to this area to see what's become of their former company, but finding the particular area in the opening scene isn't easy, since there isn't a place of interest or marker on the map to guide players there.
Where To Find the Graves for Hans' Company
To find the grave site for Oats and the rest of the company in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players will need to head back to the Rocktower Pond area. The location, in particular, is opposite of the Nomad's Camp across the pond.
If players take on the Bird of Prey quest, they may even find the site themselves. When players discover the poacher, he can potentially tell Henry about the ambush that he witnessed. The poacher's camp happens to be just above where Oats and the rest of the company died. Players just need to head down the hill from the poacher's camp and turn left on the road to discover the original camping location where the company rested.
Even without this quest, finding the graves for Oats, Tankard, Konrad, and Nicholas is still possible. Players just need to travel to the site marked on the map below:
Now, when players arrive at the site, they may discover that a group of bandits has built a camp there. There are quite a few of them, so players may want to handle the situation differently depending on how powerful Henry is at that point. For example, players with a Henry decked out with the best armor can likely take them on in a physical fight.
For those who traveled to the grave site early on in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it's advised to get some poison and slip into the cooking pot inside the camp. Players with a dagger can also sneak into the camp and kill the bandits while they're sleeping.
However the players decide to handle the bandits, once the camp is clear, they can explore the campsite properly. Near the road, players will notice freshly dug graves and three crosses. This is the grave site for the fallen company of Sir Hans Capon.
Oddly, when Henry approaches the grave site, he has no dialogue. Players also can't interact with the crosses to say a prayer over them. The devs said in a Twitch stream of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 that they plan on adding an interaction here in the future, but for now, it's just a place for players to find and pay respects themselves.
Another oddity is that the grave site has three crosses despite the company having four men who were killed. This might be another discrepancy the devs plan to fix in a future patch. Or, as some theories suggest, perhaps one of the company's members actually survived.
Either way, if players want to find Hans' dead company's grave site in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, they must head back to Rocktower Pond and find the company's former camp. From there, players can make the experience more rewarding with some roleplay.
