Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Divine Messenger Walkthrough
How to Start Divine Messenger in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To start Divine Messenger, you must complete Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's For Victory quest, which ends in a challenging fight against Captain Zizka. Divine Messenger begins with a cutscene as soon as the fight ends, showing Father Godwin traveling on the road and speaking with Innkeeper Lawrence at the Inn near Zhelejov, where he learns about the devastating Nebakov attack and Mill massacre.
Talk to the People Who Escaped from the Mill
After the cutscene ends, and you select a couple of dialogue responses, the first optional objective is to speak to the survivors who escaped from the Mill to gather more information. Head inside the barn on your left and talk with the witnesses, Hired hand Kuba and Maid Anna. They tell you that the bandits took Henry and Hans captive, and they were hanged. However, Godwin isn't giving up.
Before leaving, if you choose the "I'll be happy to bless him" dialogue option to bless Kuba, you'll receive a Commemorative Ring as a reward.
Go to the Site of the Ambush at Nebakov Mill
After speaking with Kuba and Anna, the next step is to travel to the ambush site south of Zhelejov and Troskowitz, as marked on the map above. To reach the ambush site, you'll need to travel using Godwin's horse Bibiana just past the main gate.
Mount the horse and travel cross-country until you reach the fork in the road. Godwin comments that you would normally turn left, but you'll have to take a right turn down the path to reach the ambush site as pictured on the map below.
Once you arrive at the ambush site, Father Godwin comments about what happened as you ride through the remnants of the battle, following the path, continuing past any bandits you encounter. Continue following the path around past the blockade, triggering a cutscene as you approach the guard at the end of the path, who takes you to speak with Commander Erik when bandits show up.
If you help defeat the bandits, Erik will take you to the prisoners at the Nebakov Fortress, so use your sword to help fight off the attackers. You'll be fighting multiple enemies with the rest of the group, so focusing on parrying attacks and following up with hits from above can help you win.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Where to Find Lord of the Rings Easter Egg (The Shire)
Fans of The Lord of the Rings should keep their eyes peeled for a mini-Shire in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, as it's easy to walk right by and miss.
Go to Nebakov Fortress with Erik (Horseback Race)
After dealing with the bandits, Erik escorts you via horseback to Nevakov Fortress. He'll ask you some questions along the way, but it's best not to reveal too much to help based on what happens later in the quest.
He then challenges you to a horse race along the way, which ends at the campfire at the top of the hill by Nebakov Fortress. If you're not quite ready, and he manages to get ahead of you, you can still win the race against Eric by cutting through the trees, as shown in the video below:
You don't need to beat Erik in the race to continue the quest, but you'll get some reputation if you do. While already being used to riding a fast horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can help, you can beat him easily by starting as soon as he's stopped talking about the race and following the path left, cutting through the trees on the left as you ride up the hill to the finishing point by the stables behind the campfire.
Get Information About the Prisoners and Defeat the Rebels
After a shortcut scene, you get to speak with the Captain at the entrance to Nebakov Fortress, where you get to choose a few timed dialogue responses to try and get information about the prisoners. However, things soon get a bit dicey, and rebel attackers turn up. The Captain says if you help the rebels, he'll return Henry and Hans, who are safe for now. So, it's time to charge into battle as Godwin once more and defeat the rebel attackers, using combat strategies like performing perfect blocks when necessary.
After talking with the Captain during a short cutscene, time rewinds to an earlier scene with Henry and Hans being locked up in prison at the Fortress. They soon get a chance to have words with a surprise visitor, Istvan Toth.
Try to Find Out More From Istvan, Then Talk to the Captain and Godwin
Playing as Henry, the next objective in Divine Messenger is to speak with Toth in order to try and get some information from him. Afterward, Erik arrives for Toth, leaving Henry and Hans locked up. Fortunately, Godwin soon shows up victoriously to free the pair, and you then get to ask Zizka some questions about everything that's been going on. After a final cutscene, the next main quest, The Finger of God, begins immediately.
