Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a lot of systems to manage to keep Henry upright and alive while on his journey. A lot of these things will require players to drink potions or eat food, and time is always of the essence.

The hotbar lets you quickly use items without having to open up your inventory, which is incredibly helpful for saving time or using something in combat. Here's how to equip and use pouches, along with increasing their carry capacity.

Getting Stealth XP in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is much easier than one would think, provided players know what to do and where to go.

How To Use The Hotbar In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The Hotbar is found just to the right of Henry's health bar along the bottom of the screen, and when you first start the game there will be nothing there and you can't equip anything there. To use the hotbar, you'll need to find and equip a pouch. Pouches can something be loot found on enemies, but your best bet is to purchase them. Your go-to merchants for pouches are the same as repairing shoes: Cobblers and Saddlers.

Once you have a pouch equipped, you can equip food or potions into any available hotbar slots. This is done by:

  • Playstation/Xbox - Right of the D-pad, pressing right or left after that to decide which item you want to use. The last item selected will be left in the first slot.
  • PC - 5,6,7,8 for the corresponding hotbar slots.

It's always a good idea to have dried meat in one of your hotbar slots as it can make managing your nourishment much easier as you'll always have a snack. Some potions have combat benefits that are timed, and having them in your hotbar can help you use them efficiently while also not pausing the game mid-combat.

How To Increase Pouch Capacity In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Cobbler Matthew's Location On The Map

The number of slots each pouch has determines how many hotbar slots you have access to. While each pouch has a set number of slots, you can upgrade your hotbars capacity by finding and equipping better pouches. While pouches also give a boost to Charisma, their main appeal is their number of slots and it's the only gear piece in the game that offers that, so always prioritize slots.

You can see the number of slots a pouch gives access to by opening up the journal entry of an item when hovering over it in the menu.

If you progress through the first few main missions and reach Trosky Castle, you'll find Cobbler Matthew who sells a Knight's Pouch which is an early option that gives three slots, with the maximum possible being four.
