Players have a lot of freedom when it comes to building Henry up in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The skills you choose to improve can drastically affect how Henry interacts with the world, and one such skill involves Scholarship, which influences your character's worldly and academic knowledge.

A good education is rare in medieval Bohemia, and if Henry can prove himself to be a learned man, you can easily talk your way out of some of the more complicated quests, such as For Whom The Bell Tolls in KCD2. Leveling up the Scholarship skill is a bit of a hassle though, so here's a guide to help with that.

How to Level Scholarship in KCD2

You can get XP for the Scholarship skill by learning new things. You can gain new knowledge by speaking with NPCs or learning books. A pop-up saying that Henry learned something new will appear on the upper-right of the screen when you successfully gain knowledge, and bit by bit, your Scholarship level will increase as long as you keep learning new things.

Speaking with Scholars

Other educated people are great sources of new knowledge. You can often learn a thing or two from scribes, noblemen, and other scholars in the world. Strike up a conversation and ask them questions, and you may pick up a new thing or two.

Learning about things like new locations, tidbits of history, or other facts that can be considered scholarly or academic will net you 6 XP. Using Scholarship dialogue choices will give you a bit of XP as well.

As a rule of thumb, if you're speaking to an expert, try to ask them questions to see if you can pick up some XP for Scholarship or other skills.

Where to Get Books in KCD2

Buying books in KCD2

Apart from randomly finding scholarly books in the world, you may also find some sold by scribes. There's one inside the town hall of Troskowitz. Picking up and reading a scholarly book will significantly increase your Scholarship skill's level as you flip through its pages. In general, you should be looking for books about philosophy and theology. Scholarship books include:

  • Teachings of Peter Waldo
  • Rare Book From Sedletz
  • Basics of Philosophy
  • Master's Studies I
  • Fragments From The Bible

Other books will also increase your Scholarship XP even if they aren't specifically meant for the Scholarship skill. Lore books, such as King Sigismund of Hungary will net you 22 Scholarship XP, while skill books any of the philosophy/theology books above or something like The Strength of the Knight I give about ~100 XP, depending on the level of the book.

When reading skill books, make sure to sit down and press the Study button prompt on the bottom-right side of the screen. For lore books, you only need to open them to gain XP.
