Legacy of the Forge is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's second major DLC, following on from Brushes with Death. It is available to all who own the Expansion Pass or the Gold Edition of the game, or it can be purchased separately. As the name of the expansion implies, Legacy of the Forge is all about a Forge that Henry takes over, becoming his new home and mini base. There are quests, new weapons and armor, and tons of customization for the forge, yard, and Henry's chambers. This short guide will explain how to start the Legacy of the Forge DLC in KCD2, while also going over what players might need.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - How Does The Kuttenberg Tournament Work?
There is a weekly Kuttenberg tournament in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but how does it work?
How To Start Legacy Of The Forge DLC For Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
First of all, Legacy of the Forge can only be started in Kuttenberg, with no related content in the Trosky map. This means that new playthroughs are not a good idea for those looking to jump into the DLC quickly.
Get To Kuttenberg If You Aren't Already There
To reach the Kuttenberg map in KCD2, players will need to complete all of the main story missions in the Trosky region. These are:
- Wedding Crashers
- For Whom the Bell Tolls
- Back in the Saddle
- Necessary Evil
- For Victory
- Divine Messenger
- Finger of God
- The Storm
After arriving in the Kuttenberg region, two more quests are required before Henry is free to travel to the city and start the DLC:
- The Sword and the Quill
- Speak of the Devil
Start Legacy of The Forge In Kuttenberg
To start the Legacy of the Forge DLC in Kuttenberg, players should head to the eastern part of the city. There should be a purple quest icon for the DLC. This is at an abandoned building, across the road from a pond where laundry can be done, and near the infamous Hole in the Wall tavern.
As players get close, they will get a prompt to look at the building, and then they can click to accept the start of the story.
Do You Need Lots Of Groschen For Legacy Of The Forge?
To fully upgrade Henry's forge and chambers, players will eventually need lots of Groschen. However, these unlocks are also gated behind Henry's new Prestige rating, so players can earn Groschen while leveling up Prestige and rising through the ranks of the Blacksmith's Guild.
It's therefore perfectly possible to start the DLC with a few hundred Groschen, and players won't be rushed to upgrade anything or complete the story element of the DLC.

There are 50 Achievements/Trophies For Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Here's how to unlock them all.
Do You Need To Be Good At Blacksmithing?
While it may seem like a high Blacksmithing or Craftsmanship skill is necessary for a forge-themed DLC, there are only 2 times when Henry is required to do some blacksmithing. Therefore, if you don't enjoy KCD2's blacksmithing mini-game, or haven't leveled Henry up in his father's craft, don't worry too much.
The first quest does involve a guild trial, but it isn't too hard, and part of it is just answering questions, for which Henry can study from a book beforehand.
