The Italian Job is a main story quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, tasking players with pulling off a high-stakes heist at the Italian Court in Kuttenberg. Success requires assuming the identity of an Italian Cardinal and working alongside allies to steal a secret hoard of silver, all without drawing the attention of the city’s guards.

Along with the heist, KCD2 raises the stakes by adding a rescue mission to free the captured lords, including Rosa’s father. With so much at risk, the mission can quickly become overwhelming. This walkthrough covers each step of The Italian Job, offering strategies for managing conversations, avoiding combat, and pulling off a clean escape.

How to Complete the Italian Job Quest in KCD2

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 The Italian Job

The Italian Job begins immediately after the quest Oratores, as Henry and his allies prepare to infiltrate the Italian court assembly in Kuttenberg. Players take control of Godwin, the only group member fluent in Latin — though only when he is drunk. Managing Godwin’s intoxication becomes critical to avoid suspicion.

Walk to the Italian Court

The first objective is to meet Jerome Naaz at the Italian Court in Kuttenberg. Along the way, Godwin interacts with locals, including two merchants who flag him down. Players should buy at least one item of food and one piece of art to satisfy them before moving on.

Closer to the court, a guard will greet Godwin. Respond politely to build reputation. Naaz will then escort the group into the court. Choose the following social options for the best results:

  • “Let us not waste time.” (Step inside.)
  • (Evade) when Naaz asks about Henry.

As the group proceeds, Godwin should ask Naaz about the Mint to keep the conversation casual. After a brief stop where Naaz complains about the captured lords, they encounter a real Italian guard, Giuseppe. Since Godwin is beginning to sober up, it's best to remain silent and move forward without raising suspicion.

Attend the Council

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 The Italian Job

Inside the court, Godwin finds himself mediating a feud between two religious groups, awaiting a ruling from the Pope. Players must carefully navigate conversations in Latin to maintain their cover.

When prompted, choose:

  • (Continue informally)
  • "Could I also taste the monastery wine?"
  • (Continue formally)
  • "The Pope has not reached a decision."

At this point, Godwin can freely move around the room. It’s crucial to keep him drunk, but not excessively, to maintain fluency. Use the wine kegs on either side of the room, drinking about two back-to-back to stay sharp.

Janosh soon pulls Godwin aside and advises him to ask Naaz for wine to remove some guards. Before approaching Naaz, drink from the keg to ensure Godwin's drunkenness is at least halfway full. Then request wine when the dialogue option appears.

Next, players should speak with all the council members. Focus conversations on the council's purpose and demands; avoid talking about the city. While speaking with Andrew Polner and

Wencelas Vorsucher, ask about the guards to prompt Godwin to request additional guards from Naaz, clearing the way for Henry’s team downstairs.

Be wary when talking to Albich of Uniczow because he knows the real Cardinal. Evade him when he brings it up, and then ask him about the basic premise of law to move things forward. When speaking to Musa, don't mention anything about the murder at Sigismund's camp.

Don't ask unnecessary questions, or Godwin may sober up.

After speaking to everyone, drink more wine if needed, and then discuss the final speech with Janosh. Godwin will need to show off his Latin prowess one last time, so choose the following options for the best results:

  • "Musa is right (Path towards reconciliation)
  • "You need to understand each other."
  • (Calm Down)

With a tentative agreement reached, the conversation concludes, and Godwin must wait and hope that Henry does his part. Luckily, players get to decide their fate, and the game cuts back to Henry's POV.

Black Arrows are the best arrow type in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, so here's where to find them.

Take Out the Guards

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 The Italian Job

Henry's side of the plan requires him to get his hands dirty. He must take down the remaining guards to help his comrades steal the silver, so he should equip his best stealth outfit. Exit the door and climb the ladder to the battlement, then turn left and climb onto the ledge.

A guard stands at the corner of the staircase. Sneak up behind him and knock him out or stealth kill him if Henry has a knife equipped. Another guard patrols nearby. After dealing with both, head downstairs to the courtyard to find a third guard. Once all threats are neutralized, meet Vauquelin Brabant near the west gate. Because Brabant refused to kill his assigned guards, Henry and Hans must cover for him. After meeting by the well, the group moves to the next objective.

Look for Adder

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Italian Job Find Adder

Before they can go much further, the trio realizes they are missing someone. Ask about Adder whenever prompted. Henry can follow Hans to find Adder, but they will hear him, or at least his partner, before they see him. Open the door to the room from which the sounds are coming to trigger the next cutscene.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Italian Job Find Adder

Adder and the pretty cook are getting busy in the kitchen when they are confronted by her husband, Giuseppe. Upon entering, calm everyone down to avoid violence. Then choose the following social interactions:

  • (Pretend to be Italian)
  • (Use Brabant's Phrases)
  • "Fatta la legge, trovato l'iganno."

Help Zizka and the Rest Into the Court

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Italian Job Find Adder

Talk to Adder, then proceed to the cellar to meet up with Zizka and the others. Follow Hans to the lower area of the cellar and look at the wall across from the entrance. Hit "Explore" to bust them through the wall.

Free the Lords

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Italian Job Free the lords

Once everyone is reunited, players must free the captured lords before running off with the stolen silver, a critical step for those pursuing Rosa's romance subplot. Talk to Rosa and the others in the courtyard and choose the following interactions:

  • "We must free the lords!"
  • "I want to go with them."
  • "Got it!"

Henry, Janosh, and Adder go upstairs to where the lords are being kept. There is one man in the way, but players have several options when it comes to dealing with Csaba. They can try bargaining with him, but it requires passing social checks:

  • "We don't have to fight." (VERY HARD Speech check)
  • "You don't stand a chance against us." (VERY HARD Chivalry check)
  • "Join our side." (VERY HARD Charisma check)

Success convinces Csaba to flee and report false information to Sigismund. Failing the checks forces players to kill him. Either way, pick the lock to free the lords.

Escape to Ruthard Palace

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Italian Job Escape to Ruthard Palace

Speak to Zizka at the battlements to plan the escape. Just as victory seems near, Erik and his forces attack. Players must defend the battlements, knock down ladders, and fight their way to the outer Bailey.

Afterward, retreat through the cellar tunnel back toward Ruthard Palace. In the tunnels, talk to Musa and Adder to gather the team and begin the final leg of the escape. Players also have a chance to flirt with Hans during this sequence. Upon reaching Ruthard Palace, players face a final skirmish against Brabant's men. Once the enemies are defeated, the group flees to Suchdol, and the next main quest, Civitas Pragensis, begins.
