At the beginning of the Legacy of the Forge DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry has to answer three questions correctly as part of the Blacksmiths' Guild Trial. This takes place during the Adept quest, and is followed up by a practical test where Henry must forge a sword worthy of the guild.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - How Does The Kuttenberg Tournament Work?
There is a weekly Kuttenberg tournament in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but how does it work?
Do You Need To Buy & Read The Handbook To Pass?
While talking to Master Bushek about the trial for the Blacksmiths' Guild, he will offer Henry a handbook for 100 Groschen. This can be used to revise for the upcoming questions.
However, if players are low on Groschen, the book is not necessary, as the questions are based on existing knowledge that Henry will have learned from Blacksmith Radovan early on. Naturally, players will also find the correct answers below.
If Groschen isn't a problem, the handbook is an interesting read and not too long. It will also help with questions for those who don't want to cheat or need a refresher. While reading, pay attention to the key phrases in red ink.
When walking to the trial with Master Bushek, he will ask Henry some questions. While these don't matter, they may be repeated in the trial, so pay attention if he corrects Henry.
All Blacksmiths' Guild Trial Answers In Legacy of the Forge for KCD2
Henry will be asked three questions by members of the Blacksmiths' Guild, and will need to answer them all correctly. Upon failing, Henry may be able to proceed with the practical test, but they will demand perfect results.
There are a variety of questions, and they will not be the same for each player or each attempt at the trial. They will also be asked in a random order.
Bear in mind that there is a timer for each answer, so make sure to learn all the Guild Trial answers in KCD2 beforehand.
Are Sparks While Forging A Good Or Bad Sign?
- Answer: That depends
As Henry explains, sparks are a good sign when hammering at the anvil, but a bad sign when heating the metal up in the forge.
What Is The Color Of A Correctly Heated Workpiece?
- Answer: Straw yellow
Remember that when the metal starts to cool, turning a dark red, it's time to return to the forge and heat the sword back to the straw yellow color. This is the same description that Blacksmith Radovan gave Henry back at the start of the game.
Why Do Blacksmiths Whistle While They Work?
- Answer: To keep rhythm
There are two different songs that Henry can whistle. One is for quick, short swings and the other is for less frequent, but harder swings. Both are good, just try to stick to one style.
What's The Final Step Before Completing A Piece?
- Answer: Quenching
This is done automatically by Henry when he deems the sword to be complete. Crucially, the sword is momentarily reheated before being quenched.
How Can You Tell You've Made Progress On Your Workpiece?
- Answer: By the shape
While forging, Henry will comment on the progress, sometimes saying he's messed up or is halfway through.
Learning all of these is also vital for passing the practical test, as they are all part of blacksmithing in KCD2.

Passing The Practical Test For The Blacksmiths' Guild
After answering the questions correctly, Henry will be given a blueprint for a Blacksmiths' guild longsword and the relevant materials.
Under the careful watch of the guild members, players will then need to forge this sword. They should aim for Gold quality by heating the sword evenly, hammering evenly to a nice rhythm, and remembering to flip the sword to hammer the other side equally.
If players fail, such as by producing Bronze quality, they can try again for 200 Groschen. They don't have to do this immediately, and can come back at a later time. Thankfully, they will not be required to answer the questions again.
Having a high Craftsmanship skill and the best Blacksmith Perks can help improve the final quality. If deemed good enough, Henry will be accepted into the guild and can begin return to his new forge to get it up and running.
