The second major DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is known as Legacy of the Forge and will release on all platforms on September 9th, 2025. Players who own the Gold Edition won't need to purchase it, as they already own Legacy of the Forge, Brushes with Death, which was released in May, and Mysteria Ecclesia, which should arrive in Winter.
10 Reasons Why Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Could Win Game Of The Year
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an early frontrunner to win Game of the Year in 2025. Here's what makes the game so great.
Based on a breakdown of the official announcement trailer first shown at Gamescom and other details that have emerged, all combined with what is known in-game already, it's possible to piece together a decent picture of what fans can expect in Legacy of the Forge.
Henry Will Continue His Father's Legacy As A Master Blacksmith In Kuttenberg
Continue Martin's Business & Meet His Old Acquaintances
Henry's father, Martin, was once a renowned blacksmith in Kuttenberg, and with the Legacy of the Forge DLC, Henry will be able to continue Martin's legacy. Not only will Henry have his own forge and business like his Father, but the story quests will also involve a handful of Martin's old acquaintances and rivals, likely revealing more of his past, just as Samuel did in the main story.
The forge Henry comes to own is even the exact same one that a young Martin once apprenticed at, making this new home more significant. Henry will also have the chance to try to complete Martin's masterpiece project.
Henry's Forge Is Next To The Hole In The Wall Tavern
Players Can Check Out This Kuttenberg Location's Exterior Beforehand
For months, players have been speculating where Henry's forge would be located in the upcoming DLC. The best guess, especially after a way to glitch inside was found, was a ruined building and plot of land next to the infamous Hole in the Wall tavern in Kuttenberg.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - 6 Roleplay Ideas For New Playthroughs
The roleplay ideas for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are perfect for new playthroughs.
The announcement trailer for Legacy of the Forge has now proved this theory to be correct, and if players go to visit this location, they will see just how run-down it is. While the DLC likely won't be triggered here, the first quest will most likely be inside the city of Kuttenberg, meaning players will need to reach a certain point in the main story to travel to the game's second map.
Henry Will Be Able To Hire Armor Smiths & Potentially Others
This Means That Players Cannot Craft Armor
Unfortunately, Henry will not be able to forge armor, which would likely take years to learn, even for a blacksmith capable of producing tools and weapons. Instead, Henry will be able to hire an armorsmith, who can produce new armor unique to the DLC.
Hopefully, this will work similarly to From the Ashes in the first game, where Henry can choose people to hire, and they are more likely to agree if they like him. With how busy Henry's forge looks in some screenshots and artwork, he may be able to hire multiple people, potentially even a cook, seeing as the site will supposedly have a kitchen.
Henry Will Advance Through A Blacksmith's Guild & Have Daily Quests
Live The Life Of A Blacksmith
Once Henry's forge is up and running, and presumably after he obtains the rights to trade by being accepted into the guild, players will be able to lay down their adventuring sword and live the life of a blacksmith. According to the official website for KCD2, this will include daily quests, which are highly likely to be in-game daily quests, rather than live service.
There will be new blueprints to forge, unique orders, and players will likely have to manage their stocks of materials and other aspects of running a forge. Players will be driven to make more money so that they can further upgrade the forge and Henry's chambers. Henry will also be able to climb the ranks of the blacksmith guild, and there is a new prestige system, allowing Henry to impress with his work to unlock new upgrades.
Henry Might Play A Role In Fixing The Town Hall's Astronomical Clock
The Trailer & Art Heavily Point Toward This
At key points during the trailer for Legacy of the Forge, the camera focuses on the large astronomical clock that adorns the town hall. Henry and other characters can also be seen holding small mechanical pieces of the clock, making it likely that fixing the clock plays a key part in the story aspect of the expansion.
7 Things Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Can Teach You About History
Via the characters, story, environment, and codex entries, players can learn plenty about the real Middle Ages by playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
This will certainly be something new for the series, and medieval engineering and ingenuity are rarely depicted in modern media. Hopefully, this section will be nice and challenging.
Players Can Completely Customize Henry's Forge, Chambers, & More
There Are Apparently 100 Million Combinations Of Fancy Medieval Decor
After acquiring his own forge, which also comes with personal chambers, a yard, and apparently a kitchen and alchemy bench, Henry will be able to upgrade and customize his new home. In some ways, this will be similar to the original game's From the Ashes DLC; however, from the trailer and other screenshots, the amount of customization at Henry's disposal blows the former out of the water.
While some changes are purely cosmetic, such as beautiful painted murals, much of the furniture grants Henry certain buffs. For example, he has many beds to choose from, each providing different buffs after being slept in. This is easily one of the best aspects of the DLC, and players will finally be able to make a house of their own for Henry. One option is even a bird cage, which can be seen in the corner of the room in the trailer. Customization is not just for the inside, but outside too, such as upgrading the well or the quality of the path. All of this is managed in a beautiful 2D book.
