Following the conclusion of Ars Dimicatoria in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry may return to the Swordfighting Guild in the southwestern district of Kuttenberg to begin the side quest Mark of the Brotherhood. There, he should speak with Menhard van Frankfurt, the guild master, who expresses concern over the disappearance of a prized ceremonial Guild Longsword.
Emmeram, a former guild member, was the last to have the Guild Longsword. Now working as a butcher near the town hall, Emmeram's departure followed a humiliating loss in the tournament, and Menhard suspects the sword's disappearance may be connected to his resentment. Menhard tasks Henry with recovering the sword and promises a reward for its safe return. So, here's how to find the sword and complete Mark of the Brotherhood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Should You Give Money to the Ragged Man?

Mark of the Brotherhood Walkthrough in KCD2
Emmeram is at his butcher shop, just off the main square near the town hall's fast travel marker. When questioned, Emmeram feigns disinterest and claims that he discarded the sword in a rubbish heap on the southern outskirts of Kuttenberg, near the city's fortress wall. Though his demeanor is suspiciously friendly, he insists he no longer has the weapon.
Searching the Rubbish Heap
Before proceeding, Henry should ensure he has a spade in his inventory, as digging through the marked locations is required. The rubbish heap is situated along the southern edge of the city. Upon arrival, players will find three suspicious dirt mounds near dense shrubbery.
Be cautious of the wild dogs roaming the area. They'll attack Henry on sight, so it's advisable to eliminate them before attempting to dig.
After thoroughly investigating all three locations, Henry will discover that the sword is nowhere to be found. It becomes clear that Emmeram has duped him.
Returning to Emmeram
Upon returning to confront Emmeram, Henry demands the truth. Emmeram finally confesses that he broke the ceremonial sword into pieces in a fit of rage following his defeat and dismissal from the guild. He reluctantly hands over the shattered remains. Though players can challenge Emmeram to a fight in response to his deception, doing so is not mandatory to complete the quest.

Bring the shattered sword to Menhard at the guild. Menhard, disheartened by the sword's condition, requests that Henry reforges it to restore its former glory.
How to Reforge the Guild Longsword in KCD2
Henry will get a special recipe for fixing the Guild Longsword, and can visit one of Kuttenberg's blacksmiths to buy the materials and use their forge. He must get the following materials to repair the sword:
- Broken Guild Sword (1)
- Fastening Material (1)
- Toledo Steel (2)
These components can be purchased from blacksmiths in Kuttenberg. Players who want to save Groschen can sneak into one of the blacksmiths and steal the materials. Take a Quickfinger potion to make Lockpicking easier. Once gathered, Henry must visit the forge. The reforging process requires heating the materials until they reach a bright straw-yellow glow and striking them on the anvil. Each hammer blow should produce visible sparks, indicating the correct technique.
With the newly restored ceremonial longsword in hand, Henry can return to the Swordfighting Guild. Menhard will gratefully accept the reforged weapon, and as a token of appreciation, gives Henry 60 Groschen.
