While Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is already a great game in its own right, mods have the ability to push the immersion further, create new and exciting gameplay, and add even more visuals. With official modding support for KCD2 on the way, it's hard not to get excited about possible mods that could arrive in the future.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Best Horses (& Where To Get Them)

The best horses in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can typically be bought from horse traders in the Kuttenberg region, but there are two surprises.

As these mods will be easy to download and manage from the KCD2 Steam Workshop, they will be accessible to more players, especially those who don't like messing around with installation files and third-party websites. The following are some KCD2 mod ideas that will hopefully come to fruition one day.

1 Lanterns & Lamps Instead Of Torches

In Reality, Torches Are Very Problematic, Especially Indoors

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - NPC With Lantern

Using your torch in KCD2 is of the utmost importance at night. In fact, it is a crime to walk around in the dark without a light. However, from a realistic point-of-view, torches are incredibly problematic. Lighting one, for example, would take considerable effort. They would also be a huge fire risk with large open flames in a world made predominantly out of wood.

Outside, rain would quickly dampen and likely put out a torch, and the intense light would nightblind the person holding the torch. Indoors, the smoke and smell would be overwhelming. For all of these reasons and more, a mod that lets Henry walk around with a lantern or lamp would be much more realistic. Thankfully, lanterns and the animations for carrying them already exist in KCD2, as these are what other characters use.

2 New Clothing & Armor Options

Some Styles Are Missing & Variations Of Major Characters' Outfits Would Be Great

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Henry Noble Outfit

There is a wealth of clothing and armor for Henry to try on in KCD2, but more options with mods is always a plus. First of all, there are a few outfit layers from the first game that would be great to see in the sequel. For example, there is no Grand Bascinet, nor are there jupons or combat jackets as there were in the original.

This guide will provide players with the best options for each layer of armor in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Furthermore, many of the major characters in KCD2 have unique armor or clothing, and while these can be acquired with console commands, it would be even better to purchase versions of them from stores or be able to loot them from bandits. Adder's unique aketon, which is part gambeson and part mail, would be great in different colors. So too would elements of Jan Zizka's attire. Of course, completely new additions to the armor and clothing options would be great too, with so many authentic styles to take from history.

3 A Game Of Thrones Mod

The Perfect Game To Depict A Realistic Westeros

There are many Game of Thrones mods for other great games, and there was even one in development for the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance title. However, with official modding support and tools on the way for KCD2, this dream could finally be realized.

While the A Song of Ice and Fire series is most certainly medieval fantasy, it sticks closer to its medieval roots and Westeros is often seen to resemble Europe in the late Middle Ages, making KCD2 the perfect fit. A Game of Thrones mod for KCD2 could simply involve armor, swords, and banners from the series being incorporated, or much further down the line, perhaps a substantial overhaul mod could be produced.

4 More Haircuts

More Style Is Always Better

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Henry Default Haircut

The ability to cut Henry's hair is on the way, and Warhorse is providing many hair and beard styles to try out. However, having even more options is always better, and this is something official KCD2 mods could provide.

Some styles that would be great to see include a buzz cut, a bowl cut similar to the Dry Devil's, a monk's tonsure, larger beards, and, of course, a splendid mustache in the style of Jan Zizka's. With many more options, players will be able to make the Henry of their dreams. Some players may even like to change the color of Henry's hair.

5 Church Interiors

One Of The Biggest Absences

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Church of St. James

In the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance game, church interiors blew the minds of many fans, with intricately designed walls full of color that often featured depictions of iconic tales or people. Unfortunately, in the sequel, players can't enter most churches, aside from a few chapel rooms.

Many of the structures and locations in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are still standing, and fans can visit them in Czechia.

While this is disappointing, especially for the large churches in Kuttenberg, sacrifices had to be made in the production of this masterpiece. However, down the line, this is perhaps something that could be rectified by skilled modders with a love for medieval history. If this doesn't come to fruition, there will at least be the opportunity to explore the vast monastery of Sedletz in the Mysteria Ecclesia DLC.

6 Third Person Mode

A Different Way To Experience KCD2

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Henry In Kuttenberg

The first-person camera in both Kingdom Come: Deliverance games is absolutely perfect for immersion and many gameplay aspects, such as sword duels, archery, and crafting, which includes alchemy and blacksmithing.

However, some players may wish to experience medieval Bohemia in a different way, via a third-person mode. One reason this may be preferable is that players will get to see more of Henry. While some mods across both games have provided this to a certain extent, it would be great to see a polished 3rd person mode mod easily accessible on the Steam Workshop for KCD2.
