A fan of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 recently took to social media to share their real-world snapshots of Trosky Castle in the Czech Republic, a location that features prominently in the recently released open-world RPG. Set in the early 15th century, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 invites players to experience what life was like hundreds of years ago, with the game applauded by many for its historical accuracy.
The hype surrounding the follow-up to 2018's Kingdom Come: Deliverance has persisted since its sequel was announced in April 2024. Celebrated for its realism, the first game was also criticized for its technical bugs, with players hoping for a smoother experience in Warhorse Studios' second attempt. The fanbase showed up in droves on its release day of February 4, 2025, with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 selling over one million copies in its first 24 hours and being dubbed by some as a serious 2025 Game of the Year contender. Many players have taken to social media to share screenshots of the title's stunning landscapes, with the game's graphics proving to be particularly impressive.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Bungles Its Clever Twist On a Much-Maligned Game Design Trope
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a worthy sequel to the 2018 modern classic, though this status comes with one significant design hurdle.
In a recent post on the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 subreddit, user HloupejHonza shared a stunning snapshot they took two years ago during their trip to Bohemian Paradise, a protected region found in the Czech Republic. The photo shows the ruins of Trosky Castle, which was built during the second half of the 14th century and destroyed in 1648. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 features many areas to explore, including the region of Trosky and its castle as it would have looked in 1403. Helpfully, the user also includes an image of how the landmark appears in the new Warhorse Studios release.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Fan Shares Real-World Images of Trosky Castle in Czech Republic
As was the case in the first game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 places a strong emphasis on historical accuracy and realism. Players who let food sit too long will return to find it spoiled, and weapons must be properly cared for if they are to be useful in battle. The game's handgonne weapons have caused fans ample amounts of frustration, as the firearms take a long time to reload and are incredibly inaccurate. Players were so infuriated by the weapons that Warhorse recently released a statement explaining that handgonnes in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are intentionally bad, as firearms during this period were a far cry from those available in the present day.
In January, Warhorse Studios confirmed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will have three DLCs and a handful of free post-launch updates, meaning players have plenty more to look forward to in 2025. The first free update is planned to be released in the spring and will reportedly introduce a new Hardcore mode, horse racing, and barbers.
