With many players having finished Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Hardcore Mode finally arriving, there's no better time to jump back into medieval Bohemia and start a new playthrough. With most quests having multiple solutions and outcomes, there's plenty of replayability as it is, but players can further shake things up by using the following roleplay ideas for new playthroughs in KCD2.
10 Reasons Why Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Could Win Game Of The Year
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an early frontrunner to win Game of the Year in 2025. Here's what makes the game so great.
These roleplay ideas may require players to impose and stick to certain rules or to lean toward certain decisions. They could also determine the quests that Henry does, as a virtuous and honest Henry wouldn't help a band of thieves, for example.
6 Saint Henry
A Virtuous Playthrough Avoiding All Sins
While players may have already done a morally good playthrough in KCD2, this can be taken further by playing Henry as a true penitent on the road to absolution and perhaps sainthood. This could mean no violence, thievery, drinking, meat, fornication, lying, gambling, bathhouses, or looting the dead. Avoiding some of these things can also result in Achievements/Trophies.
A virtuous Henry should also try to help others whenever possible, and he should pray at shrines often, using the Fundamentals of Theology Perk for Scholarship. To take the roleplaying further, players can dress Henry in simple clothes such as a white tunic and have him walk barefoot. At the very least, dress him modestly. If Henry has to do something even slightly sinful as part of the main story, make sure to visit a priest and undergo a penitential pilgrimage.
5 Branded Criminal Henry
Experience Life Shunned & In The Shadows, One Crime Away From The Gallows
With KCD2's crime and punishment system, Henry can be branded for serious crimes. He will then be shunned by civilized society, and another serious crime will land him on the gallows. However, in most playthroughs, players will avoid such actions or simply reload the save if they get in trouble with the bailiff.
Thus, it could be interesting for many to play as a branded Henry who has to live in the shadows the entire game. This will mean characters being reluctant to help him or trade. Without an honest way to earn a living or acquire food, Henry will likely have to resort to thievery. Trying this out in Hardcore Mode with the Menace negative Perk will be even more punishing, as Henry's brand will never heal.
4 Vengeful Henry
Henry Has A Lot Of Scores To Settle
From the first game alone, Henry has several scores to settle and plenty of anger brewing. It would thus be realistic to roleplay as an all-out vengeance-seeking Henry. For example, if he sees Cumans who plundered Skalitz and killed his parents, he will attack them, and in some cases, he could even seek them out.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Best Mods For A Second Playthrough
There are some really great mods for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 that can make a second playthrough better.
Throughout the game, he could also choose the most aggressive dialogue choices when dealing with the likes of Istvan Toth, Erik, and Markvart von Aulitz. Players may take this even further and have Henry's anger spill out towards other people, especially those who deceive him or do him any sort of harm.
3 Gallant Henry The Chivalrous
Protect The Weak At All Costs
Not all morally good playthroughs are equal. For example, the Saint Henry idea forbids violence, but not all have to. This is where a chivalrous playthrough comes in, with Henry able to slay foes for good causes and especially to protect the weak. It would be fitting to wear fancy clothes and shining armor. The Knight in Shining Armour Perk for Warfare would be perfect for this.
The medieval ideas of courtly love could also tie into a chivalrous playthrough, with someone such as Lady Rosa Ruthard being an ideal romance candidate. Other than being a skilled man-at-arms, a chivalrous Henry could be pious and well-read with a high Scholarship level. Upon seeing bandits attack poor wayfarers, he should ride to their defense. Some helpful tasks, however, might be beneath Henry's station if roleplaying as a knight, even though Henry technically isn't one.
2 Henry The Blacksmith's Son
Earn A Living As A Humble Blacksmith
Even though Martin isn't his real father, Henry only found out this truth a short while ago, and at heart, he is still just the blacksmith's son from Skalitz. With blacksmithing available in the game, players could start a new save where they mostly play as a humble village smith. There are plenty of side quests and dialogue options related to being a blacksmith, so expect plenty of flavor for this roleplay.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - 7 Advanced Tips
These advanced tips and tricks for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will help players get the most out of their time in medieval Bohemia.
This should be particularly appealing to those who helped Miller Kreyzyl in their first playthrough instead of Blacksmith Radovan, as there are two ways to reach the wedding at Semine. Being a blacksmith is also a good way to earn money, and when Henry unlocks Martin's Secret Perk for Craftsmanship, players will be able to produce the best weapons in the game. Just remember to pick up a leather apron and gloves from Henry's room in Tachov for a more immersive look. They even grant a slight boost to his Craftsmanship.
1 Alcoholic Henry
Drink Away Henry's Sorrows & Pain
In the first game, Henry had a pretty rough time, seeing his parents killed, and his home village burned in the prologue alone. He also experienced plenty of battles and at the very least, killed Runt. Add to this the trauma of the sequel's opening, with Hans Capon's company dying, and Henry being shot in the back.
With all of this, it would be perfectly plausible for Henry to turn toward heavy drinking and drown his sorrows. A playthrough where Henry is almost always drunk, often passing out, and potentially angry too, can introduce new challenges and lead to some hilarious moments. There is even a Drinking skill and associated Perks to go along with this playstyle. Perhaps drunk Henry could specialize in hand-to-hand combat and constantly get into fist fights.
