- The sequel received critical acclaim and strong player feedback, contributing to its impressive sales.
- Warhorse Studios' post-launch updates, including the Hardcore Mode, may have also helped boost sales.
Warhorse Studios' Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has passed the three million sales mark, three months to the day after its initial launch. The impressive milestone marks Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as one of the most successful titles of 2025 so far.
Upon its initial release, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was met with extremely strong critical reception, with critics pointing out the natural evolution between the sequel and the 2018 original, while maintaining everything that made the first game great. It also had excellent word of mouth from players, instantly translating into strong sales. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 passed the two million sales milestone back in February, and it hasn't taken long for it to improve on these numbers even further.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Fans Think One Feature Should Become an Industry Standard
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 fans want one of the game's helpful features to appear in other games and become an industry standard.
In a post on X, developer Warhorse Studios revealed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has officially sold over three million copies, while also confirming that the original game has also passed the 10 million sales mark. Although the original has sold more copies in total, it was revealed back in March that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 outsold its predecessor five times over during their respective first months on sale. In the long term, this offers hope that the sequel could eventually pass the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Passes Three Million Sales
The reasons for such strong sales are plentiful. Great reception from critics and players alike helps, of course, but Warhorse Studios' great post-launch support won't have harmed sales, either. The developer has released various free updates for the game, including one that added Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Hardcore Mode, offering a new way to play the game in a much more difficult fashion.
While players have received plenty of free content from Warhorse Studios over the last three months, there's plenty more new stuff to come yet. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 recently revealed details about the game's first expansion, confirming that it is set to release sometime this month. It has already been confirmed that there are three paid DLCs to release for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 this year, so players have a lot to look forward to in 2025.
