The success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle cannot be understated. 2025 was big for many anime and manga series, but no series enjoyed as much success as Demon Slayer, and that's thanks to Infinity Castle. Make Way For 2026's Best New Anime Movie That Can Beat Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is 2025's biggest movie, but the biggest movie of 2026 will come from this other series.
While fans already know that in terms of anime Demon Slayer is dominating, many tend to forget that the manga is doing incredibly well at the same time, despite having ended years ago. Demon Slayer’s anime success has been so incredible that the manga is experiencing tremendous backlog sales. For months, Demon Slayer was the most sold manga in Japan and even now, it continues to hover around the top positions. That said, October has seen Demon Slayer get beaten by a legendary manga that all fans know fights for the top positions at all time, and that's none other than Kingdom. Being one of the most sold manga in Japan, Kingdom is a legendary series the quality and popularity of which can't be understated, especially in Japan.

Oricon always publishes its list of the most sold manga in Japan on a weekly basis, as well as gives the fans a roundup of what manga performed how well at the end of each month. Tanjiro was never a Hashira in Demon Slayer, and the reason for why has been revealed.
At the same time, big manga volume releases ensure that Demon Slayer doesn't top the charts anymore. October saw the release of the latest volume of the legendary manga series, Kingdom, and in just two weeks, it managed to do incredible numbers that make it one of the top-selling manga of the month, with Spy x Family being its only real rival.
That said, Kingdom only dropped its 77th volume midway in October, so it will still continue to perform strongly in November.
Kingdom Will Face Competition In November As One Piece Volume 113 Drops
New One Piece Volume Will Likely Overtake It
While Kingdom is most certainly going to be one of the best-selling manga in Japan in October, November is going to be very difficult for it, and that's because of the release of One Piece Volume 113. Eiichiro Oda's series has finally dropped another new volume, and that only means it'll go on to top the Oricon charts for this month. Kingdom's best weeks are behind it, and no other manga is as big as One Piece, so it'll most definitely be One Piece's month this time around.
Still, the second place will be up for grabs and Kingdom could compete for it, provided there aren't other big releases that can overshadow it. For years, Kingdom was the only series capable of rivaling One Piece in manga sales in Japan, and sometimes even beating it. Unfortunately, its sales have dropped remarkably over the years, big the quality is still there.
