Spring 2025 Preview: My Hero Academia Vigilantes

My Hero Academia's spin-off manga is finally getting an anime adaptation. What can fans expect from Vigilantes?

My Hero Academia Art Exhibition

The art exhibition will be held at the Creative Museum Tokyo from June 21 to August 31. Given that the Final Season is set for release in Fall 2025 (usually starting in October), it's possible that new information will be revealed at the exhibition, either on its opening or closing day.

To celebrate the great news, a new pieces of artwork drawn by Kohei Horikoshi himself was revealed:

Horikoshi's message in the second artwork is something like this:

I started serializing My Hero Academia about ten years ago. During the serialization, I switched to digital drawing, but my line art is still hand-drawn. So I think I can show you the original artworks to some extent.

In addition, the name [original storyboard drafts] and the final storyboards are different in many cases, so I hope that by looking at the name as well, you can all understand what a manga artist may be thinking while drawing the series, and what it feels like to create a manga story.

I hope that even those who do not like HeroAca can enjoy this exhibition. Please come and see it!

- Kohei Horikoshi

At the exhibition, visitors will be able to view original manuscripts and sketches by Horikoshi, storyboards and special anime videos by Studio Bones. Exclusive merchandise will also be available for purchase.

My Hero Academia: Vigilante Chapter 0 Voice Comic

Besides news about the exhibition, a special video was released on Shonen Jump's YouTube channel. It is a "voice comic" (a version of a comic with voice acting) of "My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Chapter 0", the prologue chapter which was included as a bonus in MHA Vigilantes Volume 4.

This chapter is a school lesson in which Eraser Head and All Might introduce students to the concept of a Vigilante, a person who uses their Quirk illegally to protect others in cases where Heroes are generally not able to.

My Hero Academia is streaming on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed. It may be available on Netflix and other services in select countries.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
