Summary

- Spells like Create Earth and Freeze show Kazuma's resourcefulness in using non-combat spells creatively in tough situations.
- Kazuma's Thief Class spells like Bind and Lurk highlight his strategic thinking and ability to overcome challenges with clever spells.
Kazuma Satou might not be the all-powerful isekai anime protagonist that most people expect to see in a fantasy anime setting like KonoSuba, but he is special in his own way. His Adventurer Class allows him to make use of skills belonging to other classes, allowing him to level up quite easily and stack up skills from multiple classes, reminiscent of the Avatar from the popular animated series and comics.
However, in the KonoSuba series, Kazuma does not specialize in any spells. Instead, he is the textbook example of the phrase “jack of all trades, master of none.” With that in mind, here are some of the best spells Kazuma knows how to use, ranked.
Spring 2024 Preview: KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! 3
KonoSuba 3 is airing on April 10th, and here is everything we know about it!
8 Create Earth
Wizard Class
As the name implies, this spell from the Wizard Class can be used to create soil of varying types based on Kazuma’s intentions. It can be used to create sand or nutrient-rich soil for planting crops. This spell has little to no combat potential, and therefore is not used very often throughout the course of the series.
It is left to be seen if Kazuma can use this spell in more versatile ways, like erecting barriers for defense, utilizing it to impede enemies, or fashioning weapons to be used in combat. Perhaps future episodes will get creative with this spell.
7 Tinder
WIzard Class
Tinder creates a flame that can be used as a projectile. It instantly burns the target upon contact, but is too weak to do any real damage to an opponent. The most famous case of this spell's use is when Kazuma confronted Darkness and used it to burn the pattern on her mask. Although it dealt no real damage due to her great magic resistance, it was enough to put her off.
As Tinder is not strong enough to be a combat spell, its real charm lies in the creativity Kazuma applies when using it, letting viewers see something cool happen onscreen.
6 Freeze
Wizard Class
This spell allows Kazuma to freeze the surface of any target, both animate and inanimate objects. The larger the area to be frozen, the more MP it takes for Kazuma to perform this spell. As a result, he only uses it in situations that he considers a bind.
KonoSuba: Every Main Character, Ranked In Terms Of Strength
KonoSuba is a parody of both isekai and fantasy anime with various strengths, and these are all of the characters ranked.
A good example is the time when Kazuma used it to freeze the door of the bathroom to prevent Aqua from misunderstanding the situation when he and Megumi found themselves in the bathroom at the same time. The spell does not go as far as freezing the entire target or turning it to ice; rather, it only affects the surface.
5 Bind
Thief Class
Kazuma’s favorite class, the Thief Class, possesses numerous spells well known for their versatility. This comes in handy for helping Kazuma and his friends navigate tough situations.
Bind, however, can only be used to bind a target if the caster has a rope on them. Kazuma prepares for this restriction by always having a special stainless steel woven wire with him, which does a much better job at restraining his target than a regular rope.
4 Snipe
Archer Class
Kazuma is no slouch when it comes to his skill with a bow and arrow. He has picked up a few spells to increase his archery prowess, one of which was Snipe. The spell greatly increases the maximum travel distance and accuracy of the arrow it is cast upon.
The damage that the arrow does is also increased, but it relies mainly on the dexterity of the arrow, and the accuracy relies on the luck of the marksman. Since Kazuma has a very high luck stat, this spell proved to be a real menace in his hands. With it, he easily took down an airborne lizard monster about to attack him.
3 Lurk
Thief Class
This spell is most suitable for reconnaissance and sneaking around, which makes it a main staple of the Thief Class. It reduces the visibility and scent of the caster, as well as anything they hold or touch. This does not mean it is foolproof, though. Characters with high perception stats will still be able to detect the user.
KonoSuba: 7 Strongest Wizards, Ranked
These wizards in Konosuba all possess skill sets and abilities that make them significantly powerful.
The spell works really well in collaboration with other Thief Class spells like Steal, Drain Touch, and Bind. It has helped get Kazuma out of many tight situations due to its effectiveness.
2 Drain Touch
Undead Class
This skill works a lot like the Auschwalen used by Yhwach in Bleach, except there is a need for physical contact. Drain Touch absorbs HP and MP from whoever the caster touches, which can later be transferred to another target. The effectiveness of the spell varies depending on where the target is touched. It is shown to be more effective in areas around the heart or where there is little fat.
It is important to note that characters with high vitality, like Darkness, have a high resistance to this skill. Additionally, monsters with low-quality MP can adversely affect Kazuma if he uses this spell on them.
1 Steal
Thief Class
This is arguably Kazuma’s most-used spell, as it allows him to steal a random item from the target. The stolen item usually depends on the luck stat and personality of the caster. However, in Kazuma’s case, the stolen item almost always turns out to be the underwear of his opponent, if they are female, due to his perverted nature.
Whether or not he means to do this is a topic for another day, because this spell has come up clutch at crucial times. What's more, the randomness of the selection adds to the charm and humor of Kazuma and Konosuba as a whole.
