It was announced on Sunday that an OVA (original video animation) episode for the third season of the smash-hit comedy isekai, KONOSUBA -God's Blessing On This Wonderful World!, is currently in production. At this point in time, no release date, cast or staff information has been revealed. The news was revealed during a special program titled "KonoSuba Radio" on the Kadokawa official YouTube channel, which was hosted by Kazuma and Megumin voice actors Jun Fukushima and Rie Takahashi, and featured guests like Aqua voice actor Sora Amamiya and Darkness voice actor Ai Kayano.
The OVA announcement comes a few months after the end of the third season of the series, which aired during the Spring season.

2024 has been quite the year for fans of the series, who not only got to enjoy the third season of the series, returning after the second season which aired 7 years ago, but also the An Explosion on This Wonderful World! Spin-off which follows Megumin as a main character. The third season of KonoSuba was directed by Yujiro Abe (episode director, Kaguya-sama: Love is War) at studio Drive (who are currently producing the upcoming anime adaptation of Junji Ito's Uzumaki), with series composition by Makoto Uezu, who wrote the script alongside chief director Takaomi Kanasaki. Koichi Kikuta did the character designs, based on the original designs by Kurone Mishima; while Masato Kōda did the music and Yoshikazu Iwanami was responsible for sound direction.
