When it comes to leveling up in ARPGs, minion builds are often the strongest for the early, and this is especially true for Last Epoch. The Acolyte and her undead army can trample over monsters during the campaign, making it a painless way to reach the Monolith of Fates.
This build is much simpler compared to other Last Epoch builds, simply because of how minions in general play. Players don't even have to do anything here except run and summon whatever minion goes down. If this sounds appealing to you, then here's a short build guide for the Acolyte class with a bias toward the Necromancer subclass.
Last Epoch: Legendary Potential, Explained
Before you can make the strongest gear in Last Epoch, you'll need to know how Legendary Potential works.
Last Epoch: Acolyte Minion Build (League Starter)
This build will focus purely on using only minions to clear the campaign and early Monolith of Fates maps. It is almost completely hands-off, with players only needing to resummon Wraiths and Zombies and occasionally tell their undead army where to go and what to attack.
Skills
- Summon Skeleton
- Summon Golem
- Summon Skeletal Mage
- Summon Wraith
- Summon Zombie/Assemble Abomination
As you're leveling up, simply get and use all possible minion types so you can have as many of them as possible. Your main sources of damage are your archers, mages, and exploding zombies. This build is similar to the minion builds of other classes, though it requires much less effort from players.
When using Assemble Abomination, make sure to sacrifice your skeletons in order to summon it before starting a map. Then, summon the rest of your minions. This way, you'll be at 100% strength before you even leave your starting point.
Skill Trees
For this build, we'll convert our minions so that they all deal Fire damage, allowing us to easily scale our army's damage output while giving most of our minions a chance to ignite enemies, further increasing their DPS. Here are the priority passives you need to get for your skills:
|
Skills |
Passives |
|---|---|
|
Summon Skeleton |
Fire Arrow Multishot Lone Guardian Marrow Walkers Hollow Walkers Grave Walkers |

Spend your leftover points on skills you deem fit. Nodes that improve minion survivability are recommended.
Passive Trees
As for passives, focus on getting nodes that improve minion stats and your own survivability. Passives that increase health or provide Ward are great, especially those that have interactions with minion summoning or minion death.

Gear and Stats
This build has no Unique or Set Item requirements, though there are plenty of good items that directly buff minions. If you ever find the following, incorporate them into your build:
- Reach of the Grave (Wand)
- Pebbles' Set
- Melvern's Writ (Relic)
- Death Rattle (Amulet)
As for equipment stats, focus on stacking minion damage and survivability. When building for the latter, make sure to focus on Minion Bow and Spell Damage since archers and mages deal the most damage out of your army. Don't neglect your personal survivability though, and as always, max out your resistances as soon as you can.
