Like any other game that fans can imagine, whether they be AAA or independent, there may always be bugs and glitches that the developer was unable to repair before launch or failed to acknowledge, even years after its release. This is no different in Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us 2, which also has its fair share of bugs and glitches.

A recent example has portrayed a bugged animation of Joel’s arm while he speaks to Ellie in a flashback sequence. Many bugs and glitches in games such as these are left unnoticed due to how exacting and particular of an action players may have to perform to have them occur, but sometimes they are randomly occurring without any reasonable explanation. Such a glitch has occurred lately, where Ellie’s girlfriend is horrifyingly contorted.

Redditor u/emlzx98 stopped in the middle of their playthrough of The Last of Us 2 with Ellie and Dina on horseback to closely examine a particularly haunting and hysterical sight. Ellie sits upright on Shimmer, seemingly unaware of the terrifying scene behind her. Dina, while usually facing forward behind Ellie, is contorted into an amalgam of twisted and deflated textures. Her midsection is spun around with her head turned backward, while her lower body still sits properly upon Shimmer. But Dina’s writhing extremities and expressionless facial features truly sell the macabre glitch.

Fans have responded to the peculiarity of the glitch in a number of ways, with many reacting to the idea that Dina is pregnant during the events of The Last of Us 2. Redditor u/NumerousYouth3282 hilariously claims that Dina’s writhing contortion is “just the baby kicking,” while Redditor u/snoreasaurus3553 says it reminds them of “Chewbacca carrying C3-PO on his back.”

It is unclear what caused the glitch, though the OP states that this suddenly happened after they had resumed the game from the Photo Mode screen, so there may be a bug that resides somewhere within Photo Mode functionality. Glitches like this one are apparently common in fans’ recent playthroughs. One instance has even shared a player’s experience with a floating Henry stuck in a subtle pose, which fans quickly compared to how Vecna levitates his victims in Stranger Things.

Other glitches from the original The Last of Us feature a lot of weird instances that involve firearms, such as the player’s bolt-action rifle autonomously reloading itself, or Ellie having a gun when she shouldn’t have one in The Last of Us’ final scene. Now that The Last of Us Part 1 is releasing on PS5 in September and PC at an undisclosed date, this funny trend of strange bugs and glitches is sure to persist.

The Last of Us 2 is available now for PS4.
