During The Game Awards, Wildflower Interactive, founded by The Last of Us co-creator Bruce Straley, revealed Coven of the Chicken Foot as its debut title. The Game Awards showed two minutes of early gameplay from Coven of the Chicken Foot, which can be added to Steam wishlists now.
Wildflower Interactive was publicly revealed in 2022 as an independent studio founded by former Naughty Dog developer Bruce Straley. Some of Straley's previous work at Naughty Dog included the co-creation of T he Last of Us alongside Neil Druckmann, and his time as game director on the Uncharted series. Straley's last work before leaving Naughty Dog was on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which brought the story of action game protagonist Nathan Drake to a close. Since leaving Naughty Dog, Straley took time away from game development before founding Wildflower Interactive, an indie studio comprised of fully remote staff members.

Wildflower Interactive Finally Reveals Coven of the Chicken Foot
Two days after Wildflower Interactive teased that it was coming to The Game Awards, Straley's studio shared the first look at its debut game, Coven of the Chicken Foot. While no release date information was shown, the upcoming Steam game will put players in control of a witch named Gertie, who teams up with a mysterious creature to explore a stylized world inspired by traditional fantasy adventures. Gertie, who sports a pair of chicken feet, must explore dungeons, dark forests, and murky swamps to fulfill an oath. The unnamed creature companion will be crucial to Gertie's journey, as it is a non-playable ally that will develop its behaviors and adapt its tactics to aid Gertie with the tasks in front of her. The companion's abilities will change as its bond with Gertie develops throughout the story.
As for the gameplay, Gertie will not be using any conventional weapons like swords, and she will not be double-jumping across platforms. Coven of the Chicken Foot is stylized as a 3D puzzle-platformer game. Ergo, creativity and improvisation will reward players more than platforming skills alone. As Gertie and her mysterious companion develop their bond, more questions about the pair's oath and commitment to one another will be answered. Coven of the Chicken Foot will also use wordless storytelling via gestures, choices, and environmental clues that players can discover throughout the game's fantastical world.
The PC specs for Coven of the Chicken Foot were also revealed by Wildflower Interactive. As of this writing, PC players will need an Intel Core i5 12600 processor or newer, along with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card or newer to play Coven of the Chicken Foot on Steam. Of course, given that Wildflower Interactive's debut game is still in development, it is possible that the specs will change over time.
