Developer Nixxes has released the first patch for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC version, introducing a few fixes and addressing some game crashes. The patch also resolves long stalls in certain locations and rectifies various bugs in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.

Originally released in 2020, The Last of Us Part 2 continued the story of Ellie and Joel in the aftermath of a world devastated by the cordyceps infection. The story follows an older and more mature Ellie seeking revenge against a group called the Washington Liberation Front. However, the sequel introduced a controversial narrative arc that follows the story of Ellie’s antagonist, Abby. TLOU 2 was both heavily criticized and highly praised for the exact same reason—making players play as Abby. In addition to narrative choices, a portion of players didn’t like certain elements of the plot and the resolution of the story. Nevertheless, the game was a smash hit, receiving a remaster for PS5 and, more recently, being ported to PC.

Abby has access to 6 guns in The Last of Us Part 2, and collecting each of them is important, but not as important as upgrading the best of them.

Patch 1.1 is already available for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC version, with Nixxes introducing several adjustments to the popular game. An important fix was introduced to Downtown Seattle, where long stalls could occur. Some crashes were addressed, including one that happened when using Steam Input. A problem with video and audio being out of sync when watching the Grounded 2 documentary was resolved, along with various visual bugs in ultrawide cinematics.

Additionally, patch 1.1 introduces some stability and UI improvements in order to deliver a smoother experience. The developer also communicated that it is aware of autosave issues and assured fans that the team is already working on it. While finding a solution for this issue, it advises players to pause OneDrive while playing, since the problem seems to be related to the cloud service blocking save files. Nixxes and Naughty Dog are both on the lookout for player feedback related to any issues negatively affecting the recently released The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC version, while working on future updates to bring more improvements.

Although The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered failed to beat Part 1’s player count, the game has had an overall positive reception. The title currently holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam reviews, with players praising the game’s visuals on PC. This wasn’t the case for Part 1, which received an enormous amount of backlash upon release due to various performance issues, such as optimization problems and game crashes that made the game almost unplayable. While Nixxes continues to refine the game, PC players can finally explore the gripping narrative of TLOU 2.
