As reported by ComicBook, a recent "Dev Update" from Riot Games has confirmed League of Legends will be re-adding the ability for players to honor opponents. While the video did not discuss specifics on the League of Legends update, Riot Games' Andrei "Meddler" van Roon confirmed that players will soon be able to honor opponents, as well as honor multiple teammates. The developer teased that more information on the honor system overhaul would be coming in the near future, with the Honor changes expected to launch in September.

League of Legends is Bringing Back Honoring Opponents

The update to League of Legends' honor system was just one of multiple changes coming to the game addressed within the discussion video. Riot Games covered several changes in its approach to player behavior, particularly focusing on adjustments to the game's "behavioral systems" and "stream sniping." The video did not only discuss player behavior, though, with changes coming to nerf the dominance of "AD Carry" Champions and teasing future updates to game modes like Arena and Swarm.

League of Legends' upcoming Honor changes will look to improve the environment of a game that has been notorious throughout the years. League of Legends has gained a reputation as one of the most toxic online gaming communities, owing to its highly team-reliant style of gameplay. Riot Games has frequently made efforts throughout both League of Legends and its other games like Valorant to stem the games' toxicity, taking heavy action against inflammatory players. The new changes will look to allow League of Legends fans to more properly respect and honor their fellow players.
