For more than a decade, League of Legends has been one of the best MOBAS in the world, and it still has millions of people logging in every day. The World Championship has been decided, and Season 12 has now come to an end, which means that League is about to introduce a number of changes. These changes will make certain Champions very strong, which means that they will be played a lot.
With more than 160 Champions, there are bound to be a few characters who are not picked very often, and that is because most players do not see them as fun or viable picks. Some of the lesser picked Champions deserve to be where they are because their kits are outdated, but there are other Champions who do not deserve their low pick rates.
10 Braum
Braum has had a low pick rate in recent months, which is surprising because he is actually one of the best Supports in League. He is a very versatile tank, and in later stages of the game, he becomes incredibly hard to take down.
Braum is simple to play, as his Q slows enemies while also dealing some magic damage. He can l eap towards an ally and they will both gain extra armor and magic resist, and he can raise his shield to intercept projectiles. His ultimate is great for team fights because it can knock up multiple enemies and slow them.
9 Aurelian Sol
Aurelian Sol is one of the strongest Champions in the lore, and his kit is quite unique , but he has always had a low pick rate. This celestial dragon has literal stars circling his body, and they deal damage to anything they hit. He can increase their damage and speed by pushing them farther out.
Sol can fly across the map without being impeded by walls. His Q creates a disc that expands while he moves with it, and it will stun and damage those who get hit by it. If he flies while this disc is active, it can grow to a monstrous size. Sol is great for ganking, and he is a surprisingly good farmer.
8 Taliyah
Taliyah is a mage who can be used in the Jungle, but she is one of the hardest Champions to play, so it makes sense that her pick rate is low. Her combo is difficult to land, but it deals a lot of damage. She is also very squishy, and her survivability is low.
That being said, Taliyah is good during team fights because her Ultimate creates a long wall that can block the enemy from objectives, but it can also be used to separate members of the enemy team. She can throw an enemy into a minefield that can slow, stun, and explode, and she can then shoot a volley of rocks in any direction.
7 Kennen
Kennen is primarily seen in the Top Lane, but he was not used much in Season 12. Kennen can clear minions and damage enemies by throwing a shuriken that applies to his Mark of the Strom passive, which stuns a target after they get hit by three abilities.
He can deal extra damage and gain more stacks on his passive with his W, and he can turn himself into a ball of lightning which gives him extra movement and attack speed. Kennen is great for team fights because his Ult creates a storm that strikes all nearby enemies. If done correctly, Kennen can stun and deal massive damage to the entire enemy team.
6 Rek'Sai
Rek'Sai is best suited for the Jungle, but most players go for junglers who are tanky and/or damage dealers. She gains Fury by hitting things with her abilities, and her next three basic attacks deal extra damage. She can bite enemies, which deals double and True Damage with max Fury.
When she burrows, she gains new abilities. She can fire void-charged earth to reveal and damage enemies, she can knock enemies up while un-burrowing, and she can create re-usable tunnels throughout the map that she can travel through. Ganking is simple with her Ult because it marks a target and allows Rek'Sai to lunge at the enemy while being untargetable.
5 Kog'Maw
Kog'Maw still deals a ton of damage, yet his pick rate is abysmal. He is one of the only Champions w ho can be played AD or AP, and he can shred enemy Champions either way. Kog can shoot projectiles which deal magic damage while corroding their armor and magic resist, it also increases his attack speed.
His basic attacks can gain more range and deal more magic damage, and he can spit ooze which slows and damages every enemy who stands in it. His Ult shoots missiles that deal more damage to someone with low health. When he dies, he can move for 4 seconds before exploding and dealing true damage.
4 Quinn
Quinn can be an ADC or Jungler, but her main role is top, and she is incredibly mobile. She can deal an insane amount of damage, and when she hits Lvl 6 she can fly through the map thanks to her bird, Valor. This bird will occasionally mark enemy champions as vulnerable, and Quinn's first basic attack will deal bonus damage.
This bird can reveal enemy Champions and make them vulnerable, which increases Quinn's attack and movement speed. Valor can also mark an enemy and hinder their vision while damaging other nearby foes. Quinn can slow and interrupt an enemy by dashing up to and leaping off of them. This combo is infuriating to play against.
3 Skarner
Skarner has had an astonishingly low pick rate for years now, but that might change soon once he receives his long-awaited rework. That does not mean that Skarner is a terrible Champion though, in fact he is a very decent Jungler.
He generates crystals around the map which grant him bonus movement speed and mana regeneration. He can give himself a shield which also boosts his movement speed, and he can shoot a blast which damages and slows enemies. Skarner's Ult is very useful as it suppresses an enemy Champion, and he can then drag the Champion towards his team.
2 Rell
Rell is still a fairly new Champion, but she is already receiving an update because she is hardly played. This really does not make sense because she is an excellent Support designed to keep herself and her allies alive. She rides a metal horse which becomes her armor.
She can steal an enemy's armor and magic resist with basic attacks. She can attach a piece of armor to an ally, and they gain armor and magic resist This binding can heal both Rell and her linked ally, and if Rell lands a Q, it can stun enemies. Her Ult draws enemies towards her, and they are forced to follow her while taking damage.
1 Kled
Compared to League's original Champions, Kled is very unique, and he has an interesting play style. He rides a lizard named Skaarl, who possesses the majority of Kled's health, Once that health is gone, Skaarl runs away, but Kled can get him back by attacking enemy Champions.
He may be small, but Kled is a Fighter, and he can deal an obscene amount of damage. He can dash towards an enemy, and he can hook onto them, When he is dismounted however, he is much slower, and he gains a pistol which shoots him backwards, Kled's Ult is great for team fights because he charges in a direction and rams into the first enemy he sees, and all allies get enhanced movement speed.
League of Legends is available for Mac and PC.
