The most recognizable weapon in The Legend of Zelda series is Link’s Master Sword and Tears of the Kingdom players have learned a sound way to make the blade unbreakable. In Tears of the Kingdom, and its 2017 predecessor Breath of the Wild, each Hylian weapon breaks after repeated use, including the Master Sword. However, an in-depth tutorial on unlocking an indestructible version has recently taken the fandom by storm.

Nintendo’s beloved sequel became a playground for players to build the devices, structures, and mechanical animals of their dreams, thanks to the game’s Zonai technology and Hyrule's unlimited resources. One Tears of the Kingdom player built a dragon that could breathe fire, adding to the impressive plethora of inventions crafted by enthusiastic players and budding engineers.

The ongoing mystery around the Leviathans has deepened in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom thanks to its subtle environmental storytelling.

Posted on YouTube by El Duende 05, an hour-long tutorial on how to obtain the unbreakable Master Sword was shared with the community. The video features a seven-part walkthrough to help players unlock the magic sword for themselves, adding to Zelda’s long list of legendary weapons. The YouTuber credited several other players who had contributed their discoveries to the lengthy guide, now compiled in one comprehensive, albeit complicated, method.

Tears of the Kingdom's Challenging Gauntlet to Obtain the Unbreakable Master Sword

In short, players will have to methodically tamper with save files, weapon abilities, and perform the art of zuggling, known as a glitch-hunting technique. Button patterns, timing, and maintaining an order of events and glitch sequences are key to claiming the final prize. If executed properly, treasure hunters will be led to Ganondorf’s location under Hyrule Castle and presented with the game’s unbreakable Master Sword previously seen in the prologue, titled “MsgNotFound.”

Fellow Zelda players, ranging from casual gamers to avid members of the glitch community, were impressed by the in-depth guide. However, several comments highlighted that this endeavor was a test of endurance above all else. In addition to Elden Ring’s Stone Coffin Fissure resembling the Depths, fans also compared the grueling Master Sword gauntlet to From Software’s unforgiving Shadow of the Erdtree expansion in terms of difficulty, as one wrong move in the chain can cancel out previous steps.

Tears of the Kingdom has been out in the wild for just over a year, and fans are wondering what other discoveries will surface within the next five years. One artist has already recreated Echoes of Wisdom’s trailer in the sequel’s style, which will be Nintendo’s next entry in the franchise due for release this September. The sky’s the limit when it comes to the community’s creativity.
