Mayachin Shrine is one of several shrines located in Hyrule Field. Players first gain access to this iconic Zelda area after completing The Closed Door, which is the first main story quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While exploring this wide-open region, they'll come across many points of interest, one of which is the Mayachin Shrine.
Unlike some of the other shrines in the Hyrule Field area, the Mayachin Shrine is a combat-free zone, with players instead having to solve a puzzle in order to claim their prize. Those who've been practicing with Link's Ultrahand ability shouldn't have too much trouble. For everyone else though, figuring out where to start can be a little tricky.
Mayachin Shrine Location
Players can find the Mayachin Shrine to the north of the Hyrule Field area right in the middle of some Exchange Ruins. It's in the Windvane Meadow part of the map, which is just to the north of the area between Lake Kolomo and Aquama Lake. The ruins that surround the shrine are fairly easy to spot from a distance, as too is the eerie green glow that emanates from all of the shrines in Tears of the Kingdom. The coordinates for the Mayachin Shrine are -0705, -0866, 0031.
Mayachin Shrine Walkthrough
There are no enemies in the Mayachin Shrine, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players instead needing to use their brains and Link's abilities to solve what is ultimately a fairly simple puzzle. For starters, they should climb onto the rotating platform near the entrance and use it to get over to the other side of the gap. They'll then want to step onto the glowing floor tile with the circle design on it, which will cause a giant target in the back left-hand corner of the chamber to spin around.
To complete the Mayachin Shrine, players will need to propel the large stone ball into this target, which is actually a lot easier than it sounds. To do so, they'll want to head down the nearby steps and pull the green stake out of the ground using Link's Ultrahand ability. Next, they'll need to stick this
Stake into the octagonal side of the nearby device and then attach one of the white cylinders to their left onto the end of the stake.
From here, it's a simple matter of heading back up to the raised platform near the floor tile they stepped on earlier and hitting the glowing orange pillar to the tile's right with one of Link's melee weapons. Doing this will cause the device down beneath them to spin quickly in an anti-clockwise direction, which can be used to send the ball flying up the ramp and into the target. The best time to hit the pillar is just before the ball reaches the device, with the final white floor tile being a good point of reference. If players miss, they can simply hit the pillar again to reset it and then try again until they nail the timing.
Before heading through to the statue room, players should turn their attention back to the lower area. Behind a hanging structure to their right is another stake, which they should move out of the way using Ultrahand. Next, they should hit the pillar that controls the spinning device so that it turns green and then wait for the ball to pass the final white tile on the ground. As soon as it does, they'll again want to strike the pillar, which should cause the ball to fly into the hanging structure.
While the structure is still moving, players should reset the pillar and fire off another ball as quickly as they can, with the aim being to hit the target behind the hanging structure with the large stone ball. If done correctly, this will open up another chamber opposite the entrance to the statue room, inside of which is a chest containing an
Energizing Elixir. After opening the chest, players can make their way through to the statue room to claim yet another Light of Blessing.
