Swirlix is one of the most popular Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but it gets even stronger when it evolves into Slurpuff. However, unlike most Pokemon, Swirlix has some special evolution requirements in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Some Pokemon need certain conditions to be met before they can evolve in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Some Pokemon need you to raise their friendship levels, while others will only evolve when traded to other players. There are a few hoops you have to jump through to evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but it's worth the effort.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Swirlix Location

Swirlix is not found in any Wild Zones in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Instead, it likes to hang out at cafes throughout Lumiose City. You can find Swirlix at Nouveau Cafe in the southwestern part of the city, for example, and it also spawns at Cafe Gallant near Prism Tower in the heart of the city.

When you arrive at a cafe, look on top of food trucks to find Swirlix. If there's not a food truck at that location, check the seating areas where customers are eating. Swirlix can typically be found on top of umbrellas at covered seating areas. Spritzee can also appear in these spots, so you may have to come back later to reset the spawns.

How to Evolve Swirlix in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

To evolve Swirlix in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you have to trade it to another player while it's holding the Whipped Dream item. This is a special item that serves no other purpose than evolving Swirlix into Slurpuff. There isn't a minimum level requirement for Swirlix to evolve, so you can get a Slurpuff at any level. If you don't have any local trade partners, use Pokemon Legends: Z-A trade codes to get matched with online players also looking to evolve Swirlix.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Whipped Dream Location

Whipped Dream is an incredibly rare item in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Thankfully, there's a quest that gives you some for free. Look for Side Quest 14: Slurpuff's Cafe Visit at the Shutterbug Cafe in the western part of Lumioise City, west of Wild Zone 5.

This quest only requires you to visit another cafe on the other side of the city. It's unlocked after completing Main Mission 7: Reaching Rank W. Just take the Slurpuff to the cafe, and you'll be rewarded with two Whipped Dreams that you can use to evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff.

There are other special evolution requirements in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, so keep an eye out for side quests with special rewards. You never know if you'll need those items to evolve one of your Pokemon.
