The Knight Shield is available in four rarities in LEGO Fortnite - Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. Naturally, the process of getting one becomes more tedious as you go for better variants. While getting Wood and Vines to make Plank and Cord for the Common type is quite easy, that's not the case for others. You will have a tough time getting Brightcore from Lava Caves to make Iron and Copper Bar for Rare or Epic variants.

Let’s take a look at the materials needed to make the different rarities of the Knight Shield:

With this, it becomes clear that not only do you need to invest time in getting better resources, but you also need to upgrade the Crafting Bench in LEGO Fortnite. This task is easier said than done, as some of the items needed will require you to engage in risky encounters and build other pieces of equipment as well.

Hence, it’s recommended that you craft the Common or Uncommon variant as soon as possible and build up enough reserves and production before trying to upgrade.

Once you have gathered the necessary materials in LEGO Fortnite, follow these steps:

Interact with the Crafting Bench and go to the Shield tab.
Click on the Knight Shield and make sure you have all the resources needed according to the rarity.
Click Craft and wait a few seconds for the process to get completed.
Once the process is complete, go to the inventory and move the shield to your off-hand — the right-most slot in the left row. The item can then be used to block incoming attacks using the button that says "Raise," shown on the face of its slot in the bottom-right corner.

Since this is the only option available, you will not be able to hold the shield or the Torch together and will have to choose one to keep in the off-hand.
