On your journey through Lego Fortnite, you might start to realize that traveling by foot can become quite a hassle. It takes up a lot of time and requires you to go back and forth between each biome to get the required materials for recipes.
A great way to solve this problem is by crafting a Grappler. With this item, players can attach themselves to trees or even rocks to move quickly through new regions. It is also a great way to escape enemy attacks or get to the top of hard-to-reach buildings and areas. Here's how you can go about making your own Grappler in Lego Fortnite.
How to Make a Grappler in Lego Fortnite
Before making a Grappler in Lego Fortnite, you will need to first unlock its recipe. To do this, make sure to upgrade your Crafting Bench to the Rare Level, which will require these resources:
- 12x Knotroot Rod
- 15x Marble Slab
- 6x Sand Claw
- 3x Sand Shell
Before the recipe is unlocked on your Crafting Bench, however, you'll need to make some Copper Bars, which can be done using a Metal Smelter. Once you have the recipe on your hands, here are the resources you'll need to gather to create a Grappler:
- 3x Copper Bar
- 3x Blast Powder
- 10x Cord
These items won't be too difficult to obtain, but if you're unsure where to find them, we have you covered.

How to Find Ingredients for a Grappler in Lego Fortnite
The first required ingredient for a Grappler is 3 Copper Bars. Copper can be found in Dry Valley Biomes, within Lava Caves. They will appear like large, shiny black rocks on the walls and ceilings of the cave, like in the image above.
How to Make Copper Bars
To make Copper into a Copper Bar, you'll need to use a Metal Smelter. You can find a guide on how to unlock this Utility Station here, so you can get started on finishing up the first required ingredient.
Where to Find Blast Powder
Next, you will need 3 Blast Powder. This item is a bit more difficult to find, as it isn't something you can create on your own. The two best ways to find this resource are by either opening chests and finding a few there, or taking out Skeleton enemies in Dry Valley Biomes.
In the Dry Valley Biome, you'll want to wait until nighttime when the Skeletons come out. In particular, the ones wearing cowboy hats will drop Blast Powder after you defeat them. This is the most consistent way to get Blast Powder since chests will have items at random.
How to Make Cords
As for Cords, this ingredient is made using 5 Vines. Vines are incredibly easy to find; all you will need to do is break open some small plants using your hands, and they'll drop a bit of Wood and Vines. Then, to make the Vines into Cords, you'll need to have a Spinning Wheel. This will require:
- 8x Plank
- 5x Wooden Rod
- 5x Wood
- 5x Wolf Claw
Finally, when you've gathered all your materials, you can return to your Crafting Bench and successfully make your Grappler.
Keep in mind, though, that each Grappler only has 10 shots before it breaks, and you'll need to make a new one.
