If you're looking to create any higher-quality tools, you're going to need to find yourself some knotroot in Lego Fortnite. This resource is one of the more difficult to obtain, forcing players to visit dark locations and protect themselves from powerful enemies.

Eventually, you're going to need to upgrade your tools to be able to forage better resources. Knotroot is the best place to start, allowing you to create a Longsword, an improved Recurve Crossbow, an upgraded Pickaxe, and much more. It'll also be needed for some of your crafting bench and village upgrades. Here's how you can find the item in your Lego Fortnite world.

Where to Find Knotroot in Lego Fortnite

Knotroot is an item in Lego Fortnite that can only be found in caves. Each world is different, so there isn't an exact location where you'll find one. All you will need to do is look for a large, rocky structure with a small entrance at the front, and you'll have found yourself a cave.

While inside the cave, you'll notice small, spiral-shaped branches either coming out of the ceiling or on the walls. These branches will be knotroot, not to be confused with regular wood branches. The knotroot branches will usually have more detail to them, like in the image shown above.

How to Get Knotroot in Lego Fortnite

Now that you know where to find knotroot, you'll need to prepare yourself for entering the cave. This is not an area that can be easily approached without any preparation. Therefore, bring these items along with you to protect yourself:

Torch
Shortsword
Forest Axe (Uncommon)

You'll need to make sure that you have the Uncommon Forest Axe and not the regular one. To get this, you'll need to upgrade your crafting bench at least once.

Inside the cave, equip the torch to find your way through the dark areas. You'll want to look around for some knotroot branches that are close to the ground, as they are easier to get to. Equip your Forest Axe when you've found one, and you'll eventually receive around 4 knotroot pieces in return.
