LEGO Fortnite: How to Get a Compass (& How it Works)

A new update was released for LEGO Fortnite, and it has marked the debut of a new item in the game, the Compass.

Fortnite's v28.30 Update was themed around fishing, allowing players to craft fishing rods and adding a new dynamic to the game. Along with that, there were some other additions to the game as well, such as the introduction of crafting items like sand and glass, and handy tools like the spyglass. For players looking to learn more about getting and using the compass, here is all they need to know.

How To Get A Compass in LEGO Fortnite

Before players can get a Compass in LEGO Fortnite, there are a few items they will require. Firstly, there are two types of compass that have been added to the game. The Basic Compass only acts as a navigation device, while the Survival Compass will also display the markers players have put on the map. Depending on which compass the players want to craft, the items required might vary a bit.

In order to get glass for the compass, players will have to collect sand and Brightcore and then put it in a Metal Smelter. Wolf Claw can be found by defeating wolves found in the game's world. For sand claw, players will have to hunt down sand wolves, which are found at night in the beach, desert, and Dry Valley biomes. Lastly, copper can be found in the Lava Caves which in turn can be used to make the copper bars.

How To Use The Compass in LEGO Fortnite

The compass is a really handy item in LEGO Forntie, which can make navigating the map much easier. To equip the compass, players can simply open their inventory and equip the compass. Once players have equipped the compass, they will be able to see it at the center of the screen. Now depending on the type of compass they have equipped, the information that can be seen on the navigation bar will vary.

While the regular compass will ensure that players can only see the directions on screen, if they have the upgraded one, the markers will also be visible. While it is quite useful, to use the survival compass, the information displayed on the screen can be a bit too much at times. So it is recommended to use the regular compass unless players really need to use the markers.
