The LEGO Legend of Zelda set has been high on my list of most anticipated sets of 2026, right alongside the flurry of Pokemon builds that are slated to release throughout the year. It didn’t matter the content of the set, just the fact that LEGO was making another Zelda set after the incredible Deku 2-in-1 set was enough to get me excited.

But as new details have begun to surface about the Legend of Zelda LEGO set, that anticipation has grown and grown. Now, with the latest leak, it seems LEGO is delivering exactly what I hoped for, and then some.

The latest LEGO leak claims that the Legend of Zelda set will be an Ocarina of Time diorama. There was speculation that this would be the case based on the LEGO teaser that featured Link and Zelda in their OoT outfits, but nothing was official. Furthermore, the belief was that the set would feature Ganon in his beast form based on the shadow looming over Link in that same teaser.

Now, if these leaks are true (and they almost always are), it seems like that’s exactly what we are getting. This Legend of Zelda LEGO set will feature a diorama centered on the final battle with Ganon from Ocarina of Time, and, crucially, it will include minifigures of the key characters from the fight. I was concerned that the LEGO set would only include a Link and Zelda minifig and not a Ganon one, instead choosing to have Beast Ganon (or whatever form he takes) be brick-built.

Luckily, it sounds like there will be both the brick-built Ganon and a Ganondorf mini-figure, which is a huge win for this LEGO set. Not offering a Ganon minifig would have been a huge missed opportunity for the set, especially for those MOC (my own creation) creators out there. Now, LEGO fans get to have their cake and eat it, too, so to speak.

The latest Legend of Zelda LEGO leak also reveals that the set should release on March 1, 2026, just a little after the 40th anniversary celebration is expected to kick off. Prior leaks had claimed that the set would be roughly 1,000 pieces (1,003 to be exact), and that looks to still be the case.

Given that release timeline, I expect that the Legend of Zelda LEGO set should be revealed any day now, if it hasn’t already been by the time you are reading this. While the modest 1,000-piece count for the set suggests Ganon won’t be as detailed as the LEGO Bowser set from a few years back, it still should be a pretty impressive display. I much prefer the lower piece count so that the price point is a little more approachable, especially considering the Zelda Deku Tree set costs $250. I could see this set being somewhere in the $150 range.

2026 is going to be a huge year for LEGO and video games, starting with the three Pokemon sets that are going to be released in February. Then this Zelda set in March keeps the ball rolling, and then there are additional Pokemon sets supposedly releasing later in the summer, as well as a new LEGO Batman game on the way. It may be a pretty light year as far as the old standbys are concerned (Marvel, Harry Potter, Minecraft, etc.), but video game fans are eating good.
