According to a new rumor, TT Games is working on a new LEGO game set in the universe of a well-known Warner Bros. Property. The most recent LEGO game from TT Games was 2022's LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which spanned all three Star Wars trilogies. It differentiated itself from the previous games with all-new level designs and a reworked storytelling structure, and even debuted The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker in LEGO form.
TT Games used to put out new LEGO games on an annual basis going all the way back to 2005 with its very first, LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game. The 2020s have seen the studio slow down quite a bit, cracking down on development crunch and fostering a better focus on quality. Thankfully, there have been a number of other smaller LEGO games that have come out from other studios to help fill in the gaps, like LEGO Builder's Journey and LEGO Horizon Adventures. LEGO also teamed up with Fortnite to create a series of LEGO-based game modes and events within Fortnite's live service world.
One LEGO Game Deserves New Life on the Switch 2
While there may be no shortage of LEGO games, there is one title that really deserves more love, and the Switch 2 would be the best place for that.
According to a LEGO leaker, the next big licensed TT Games LEGO game is right around the corner. On Twitter, LEGO Games News expressed that TT Games' new LEGO title will be based on a WB franchise, is being made in Unreal Engine 5, and is aiming for a release sometime in Spring 2026. Additionally, LEGO Games News cited job listings for the project calling for game developers that have experience working on open-world city games.
New WB-Based LEGO Game Rumored for Spring 2026
The leading theory, based on some of LEGO Games News' previous tweets, is that this is going to be a Batman game that will include the playable storylines of several of the most popular Batman films. While there have already been three entire LEGO Batman games in the past, they all feature original storylines, leaving the events of classic movies like Tim Burton's 1989 Batman and Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin untouched in LEGO form. There would also be the potential for this rumored new LEGO Batman to cover the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy, and perhaps even Matt Reeves' 2022 The Batman. TT Games was able to cover nine Star Wars films in The Skywalker Saga, so including many of these Batman classics is surely possible, especially since all of them take place in one city rather than over 20 planets galaxy-wide.
LEGO Games News believes there's a possibility that this new LEGO Batman game will be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live next month, which lines up perfectly with their claim that the game is looking to come out next Spring. It's been seven years since the last DC LEGO game in LEGO DC Super-Villains, and with James Gunn's rebooted DC Universe having just kicked off with Superman and Matt Reeves' The Batman sequel coming up, it seems like the perfect time for a new LEGO Batman game.
