12 Highest-Grossing Star Wars Movies, Ranked

The Star Wars franchise has made a lot of money over the years, and the cinematic runs of its best movies prove just how successful Star Wars can be.

Whether it's characters that only appear in the comics and expanded universe or blink, and you'll miss them extras from the movies, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has fully embraced the 'Far Far Away' nature of the franchise and added some truly niche characters to the game that fans can play as.

Updated on August 11, 2024, by Jake Fillery: Star Wars is a galaxy that spans generations and through multiple different sources of media. Whether it's movies, TV, games, comics, or even novels, there are some characters that barely have any screen-time, or sometimes without even a line, that are propelled into fandom obscurity. As such, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga celebrates the weirdest and most niche characters, and players can earn some characters that they may not have ever heard of, let alone seen.

11 Luke Starkiller

Ralph McQuarrie's Original Concept For Luke Skywalker

lego luke starkiller
  • First Appearance: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Star Wars wasn't always the revised franchise that it is known for. In fact, back in the concept art stages, George Lucas and legendary artist Ralph McQuarrie were toying with the idea of having Luke Skywalker be a character named Luke Starkiller, and LEGO Star Wars have perfectly rendered the likeness created by McQuarrie into a playable LEGO figure.

Luke Starkiller comes with his belts and mask, as well as his slicked-back blonde hair. The character looks identical to how he does in the concept art, and it's a niche character for all of those who are unfamiliar with the behind-the-scenes of 1977's Star Wars.

How to Unlock Luke Starkiller

Luke Starkiller is a free character that can be found under the Jedi section in the character selection. He was added to all players as a part of the May 4, 2023 update.

10 Max Rebo

A Jizz-Wailer Musician

lego max rebo
  • First Appearance: Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi

Those who pay close attention to the background of Jabba's Palace might notice a strange blue elephant creature that seems to be playing some form of the keyboard with his fingers and feet. That creature is none other than the famous Max Rebo, leader of the Max Rebo Band. Rebo hasn't been seen much, and he most certainly hasn't been seen with dialogue, but that all changes with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Max Rebo receives his own mission, and a cool and smooth voice befitting of a jazz player. Max Rebo might play prominently for criminals and other gang organizations, but that's just because they pay well. It's fun to see a background musician feature as a playable character in LEGO form.

How to Unlock Max Rebo

Head to the Jundland Wastes on Tatooine and talk to Max Rebo and complete the Beats of Rage mission that is accepted by him. Upon completion, players can purchase Max Rebo for 200,000 Studs.

9 Obi-Wan Kenobi (Classic)

LEGO's Very First Obi-Wan Kenobi From the 90s

lego obi-wan (classic)
  • First Appearance: LEGO Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy

Obi-Wan Kenobi isn't exactly a niche character, but this classic variant of him is. Whilst not featured in any films or even comics, the Obi-Wan Kenobi (Classic) character found in-game originates from LEGO's original line. Before LEGO featured characters with accurate skin tones, every LEGO figure was a base yellow, including Obi-Wan Kenobi.

As such, the LEGO Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy game featured the old Obi-Wan Kenobi in yellow format, as did the minifigures of the time until the early 2000s. It's fun to see a classic throwback to the originals and show how far LEGO has come since then.

How To Unlock Obi-Wan Kenobi (Classic)

To obtain the Classic Obi-Wan Kenobi figure, players must have pre-ordered or purchased LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on digital storefronts, like Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation.

8 Yarael Poof

The Long-Necked Jedi Master

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Yarael Poof Character Bio
  • First Appearance: Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace

The Jedi characters in The Skywalker Saga are some of the best and most recognizable in the game, but then there's Yarael Poof who is by no means a Jedi Council staple like Mace Windu or Ki-Adi-Mundi.

6 Gonkatine

A Denied Member of the Knights of Ren

Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga Gonkatine
  • First Appearance: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Gonkatine is a completely original character created specifically for The Skywalker Saga, so niche doesn't do the character justice. Gonkatine is a red GNK-Series droid that attempted to join the Knights of Ren but was denied.

Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga Willrow Hood Cropped
  • First Appearance: Star Wars: Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back

Fans may have trouble remembering Willrow from the movies and that's because he's an extra with only 2 seconds of screen time in Star Wars: Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back.

The character became known among hardcore fans after the extra in the movie was spotted running with an ice cream machine in one of the scenes when the main characters are trying to escape Bespin. Despite his minor appearance, the character has gone on to have his own expanded lore, action figure, and now a place on The Skywalker Saga roster.
