Lies of P recently topped three million copies sold, and the development team is being showered with bonuses for reaching the incredible milestone, including Nintendo Switch 2 consoles and paid vacations. Following the release of its DLC, Lies of P has seen a major boost to its player count, and reviews for the Soulslike title have been positive since the original game launched in 2023.
Fans of Neowiz's action RPG were stunned during Summer Game Fest 2025, when the highly anticipated Lies of P DLC was shadow dropped during the festivities. Titled Overture, the additional content introduces more monsters for Pinocchio to battle, along with new weapons, characters, and an ambitious storyline involving time travel. Though the community has been split regarding the decision, the developers also added difficulty options, as the base game has been a slog for those unaccustomed or unskilled with Soulslike titles. Regardless of how players choose to navigate the city of Krat, Lies of P has been a major hit, and those who worked on the game are now being rewarded in significant ways.
Lies of P: Overture Broke Me, But Not Because of Difficulty
Lies of P: Overture is debatably much harder than the base game, but it also tells a much sadder story that is accentuated by character-driven drama.
According to the South Korean website The Elec (and spotted by VGC), publisher Neowiz is rewarding Round8 Studio staff with several bonuses to celebrate Lies of P surpassing three million copies sold. While South Korea mandates that workers must be given 15 days of paid vacation, staff members will be given another two weeks on top of this, as well as 10 million won, or around $7,300. To sweeten the pot even further, all members of staff will be given a Nintendo Switch 2 for their hard work.
Lies of P Developers Rewarded for 3 Million Copies Sold With Switch 2s and Paid Holidays
Today, Lies of P released an update for the Overture DLC, implementing many changes requested by fans. Monster difficulty has been reduced in repeat playthroughs, and a number of frustrating crashes and bugs have been addressed, including one causing items to be sent to Storage if a player's Bag was full. Additionally, when starting a second playthrough, Overture will now be accessible starting in Chapter 5 at "Path of the Pilgrim."
While support for Lies of P will continue, Round8 Studio is already working on a new game. Although a title has yet to be announced, the new IP is said to be a survival horror game set in a sci-fi world, and it will reportedly be released for both PC and console. The developer is also working on a Lies of P sequel, and if recent rumors are to be believed, the game could be released as early as 2026.
