Lies of P: Should You Kill Alidoro?

Alidoro is a treasure hunter who sells special weapons in exchange for Boss Ergos in Lies of P. No one knows what he truly looks like as his dog mask never leaves him. Eugenie is a huge fan of Alidoro since the treasure hunter saved her life when she was a kid. Hugo the Rookie Explorer is also a fan as he became a treasure hunter just like his idol.

While playing as Pinocchio and exploring various areas, players will eventually have to deal with an important decision regarding Alidoro alongside its consequences. This decision is as important as the Antonia cure decision in Lies of P.

Should You Kill Alidoro In Lies of P?

The short answer is yes, killing Alidoro is the correct choice in Lies of P. That’s because the treasure hunter drops Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel which is crucial for completing Eugenie's Side Quest. Upon deciphering the vessel thanks to Venigni, players can speak with Eugenie who discovered that Alidoro is actually a fraud and not the real treasure hunter. Here, Pinocchio can Lie and say I think he was a talented Stalker or tell the Truth by saying He was Eugenie’s older brother.

Another advantage of killing Alidoro, besides completing Eugenie’s Side Quest in Lies of P, is collecting some missable Records. Records are essential collectibles that play a huge role in Pinocchio’s Humanity Meter. Helping Eugenie will either reward players with the Far East Princess Record (Lie) or the Proposal, Flower, Wolf Part 1 Record (Truth). Since Records are somewhat required for the Rise of P ending, which is considered the true/good ending, players will have to kill Alidoro throughout two playthroughs to acquire both Records in Lies of P since obtaining both at the same time is impossible.

As for players who are hesitant to kill Alidoro because he’s a treasure hunter who sells special weapons, do not worry as another merchant in Lies of P will take his place at Hotel Krat who goes by the name Hugo.

What Happens If Alidoro Is Spared In Lies of P

Nothing worth mentioning happens if players decide to keep Alidoro alive in Lies of P except for missing out on two important Records. Additionally, Eugenie’s Side Quest will never be complete, which locks out an Achievement as well as the chance to gain extra Humanity Points.

The impostor is not actually Alidoro but his sidekick who killed the real treasure hunter due to a heated argument. The murderer took the famous dog mask and impersonated Alidoro. Later on, players can find the impostor at St. Frangelico Cathedral and invite him to Hotel Krat. He lies low for a while but then moves to the Barren Swamp to nab a treasure from the boss area. The fake Alidoro eventually disables the Hotel’s security which allows the Black Rabbit Brotherhood to freely enter Hotel Krat in Lies of P and kidnap Geppetto.
