Like a Dragon: Ishin is a samurai game set in the same universe as the Yakuza series. Like the mainline series, the game offers players a way to break away from the story of revenge, spying, and politics with often lighthearted substories. These substories range from saving the locals from villains and con artists or feeding hungry animals in the street.
Substory number 56, Finders Weepers, is another one of the more lighthearted tales in which Ryoma can get involved. This side quest needs Ryoma to reply to questions in a diary with the correct answers to get all the rewards in Like a Dragon: Ishin.
Locating The Finders Weepers Substory
The Finders Weepers Substory will become available from Chapter 4 onward after the player has access to Like a Dragon's Another Life. To locate it, Ryoma should travel to Gion. Gion is accessed by passing over the Shijo Bridge on the east side of Rakunai.
Ryoma must walk through the gate to enter the Gion district. To begin the Finders Weepers substory, he will find the abandoned diary near the shrine on the east side of Gion.
After finding the diary, Ryoma should choose to take a peek at the book so he can return it to its rightful owner.
The Finders Weepers Substory Answers
Ryoma decides to help by offering some advice to the writer of the diary - a person he assumes is a lovestruck teenager - by replying to some of the questions in the book. Like other substories in Like a Dragon: Ishin, the player must choose the correct answers.
The First Reply
The first question in the diary asks about unrequited love. The answer Ryoma needs is All love is precious. After the first reply, Ryoma will set the book down and wait for a response. To trigger the response, Ryoma can leave the Gion gates and return to check the diary without waiting.
The Second Reply
When Like a Dragon's Ryoma checks the diary, he can already tell that his advice has made the writer feel more positive about love. It asks Ryoma how to move forward with their feelings. The correct answer is Try getting to know him.
The Third Reply
Once again, leave Gion and return to check the diary for the last time. After taking Ryoma's advice too literally, the writer will ask him how they should declare their love. The correct answer is Better to be simple and direct. Ryoma will place the diary down for the final time.
To summarize the correct answers for Substory 56, Finders Weepers are:
- All love is precious.
- Try getting to know him.
- Better to be simple and direct.
The Priest And The Maiden
Leave the area again and return. This part of the quest doesn't require any questions or fighting in Like a Dragon, sit back and watch the scene play out. This time Ryoma will discover that it wasn't a teenager writing the diary after all. It was the temple priest, and the object of his desires, the temple maiden. Ryoma will hide and watch from a distance.
After declaring his love for her, she reveals that she only sees him as a mentor and a friend. Ryoma will emerge from his hiding spot and offer to take the disheartened priest out for a drink. After the scene ends, Ryoma will be rewarded with a minimum of 300 virtue points. Finders Weepers is a fun story in Like a Dragon: Ishin that helps flesh out the minor characters in Ryoma's adventures.
Like a Dragon: Ishin is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
