Little Nightmares 3 has announced a Little Nightmares Showcase that will be held on June 24. Initially revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2023, over two years after the release of Little Nightmares 2 in 2021, the original 2024 release window for Little Nightmares 3 didn't quite pan out as it was delayed to 2025. It's now been over a year without any official word since the delay.

The Little Nightmares franchise has gone through a bit of a shake-up since Little Nightmares 2 was released, as Tarsier Studios, the original team behind the series, was acquired by Embracer Group two years prior, in 2019. Due to this split between Tarsier and Little Nightmares IP owner Bandai Namco, Tarsier was separated from the franchise, which was given to Supermassive Games for this upcoming third installment. Supermassive is mostly known for its cinematic horror games like Until Dawn, the Dark Pictures Anthology series, and other games of similar ilk, so many feel the studio is a perfect fit for Little Nightmares 3.

Horror comes in many forms, and 2025 might end up being home to a bevy of games that are both adorable and unsettling in equal measure.

After over 12 months without a concrete update, Little Nightmares 3 is back with a Little Nightmares Showcase event that's planned for June 24, starting at 12 PM PST / 3 PM EST. The Tweet announcing the event came with a short 13-second teaser video of what looks like a carnival sign with the event's information on it. Little Nightmares 3 didn't mention which platforms the event would be streaming on, though it can be assumed to be viewable on YouTube as well as Twitch.

Little Nightmares Showcase Date and Time

  • June 24 at 12 PM PST / 3 PM EST

It's a bit strange that a game like Little Nightmares 3 is getting its own showcase event just two weeks after the hullabaloo of Summer Game Fest. Many fans of the series expected Little Nightmares 3 to show up during the festivities, as it was originally unveiled at a Geoff Keighley event, but Bandai Namco might have wanted to give the game room to shine away from SGF. Little Nightmares fans can almost certainly expect a solid release date to come of this event, and there's a good chance that date is sometime this year. Perhaps even a playable demo may be in store as well.

Meanwhile, the original Little Nightmares studio, Tarsier, is still working on its next game named Reanimal, which looks like a direct Little Nightmares successor. There hasn't been any news or updates about the game since its August 2024 reveal, so for now, it seems that Little Nightmares 3 and Reanimal might have adequate time to stand apart from each other unless the latter is also quietly planning to release in 2025.
