After switching up the Disney Plus release schedule, the God of Mischief isn’t done with his antics, and his arrogance is the subject of the new Loki trailer released by Marvel. The 45-second preview offers fans another glimpse of Loki’s attempts to change his ways, with a small chance of success.

Shared by the media company on its official YouTube channel and other social media platforms, the special look video first aired on ESPN on May 3, during the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans NBA game, which was a Marvel-themed telecast. Dubbed as Marvel's Arena of Heroes, the game was to integrate elements and characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a storyline of The Avengers recruiting the NBA’s elite. While the game got a lot of attention from Marvel fans, one of the highlights was the Loki trailer airing at halftime.

While the trailer does include a few scenes previously seen in other official Loki previews, the main focus is on how the titular character is “insubordinate, stubborn, and unpredictable.” However, Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius is convinced that he can change. Similar to previous trailers, the new spot puts Loki on trial for stealing the Tesseract back in 2012 and breaking the timeline as a result, events that were portrayed in Avengers: Endgame

In the comics, Mobius is seen as a member of the Time Variance Authority, or TVA, who is later promoted to senior management after encountering the Fantastic Four for illegal time use. It seems like Mobius will be brought in to defend the God of Mischief in the new Disney Plus series though, with him believing that Loki is “doing great” at trying to change his ways. That doesn’t mean that he truly trusts Loki, with Mobius reminding the latter of the destruction he causes wherever he goes in the new trailer.

Earlier today, Marvel announced that Loki would premiere on Disney Plus on Wednesday, June 9, instead of its original plans of arriving on June 11. "Wednesdays are the new Fridays,” Tom Hiddleston is heard saying in the announcement video, which is an obvious play on Disney Plus’ previous schedule of releasing new episodes of Marvel shows on Fridays.

Both The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision followed a similar weekly release model, but the God of Mischief has his own ways. Of course, as the God of Mischief noted in the video announcing the new premiere date, Loki can also be somewhat heroic in his own way.

Loki premieres on Disney Plus on June 9, 2021.
