In Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, players set out on a thrilling adventure with a clan of Dwarves as they strive to reclaim their homeland, Moria. Dwarves are renowned for their unparalleled craftsmanship, with centuries of experience working with metal and stone. Their skills have been passed down from generation to generation.

LOTR: Return to Moria emphasizes the significance of Dwarves and their craft skills, allowing players to craft their own weapons and tools, including the Steel Hammer. The Steel Hammer is a powerful tool that is used to rebuild Damaged Statues, repair Ruined Mapstones, and restore other destroyed buildings around Moria.

How To Unlock the Steel Hammer Recipe

Before players can craft a Steel Hammer, they must first ignite the Great Forge. The Great Forge of Narvi is a legendary furnace located in the depths of Moria and is used to forge many of the greatest weapons and armor of the Dwarves. However, the Forge lies in ruins and needs to be repaired before it can be used. Its missing parts, namely the Gear, Crank, and Replacement Pipe can be found scattered under the debris.

Players should be armed and prepared for combat, as repairing the forge will attract a horde of enemies.

Once the Great Forge is repaired and ignited, players can interact with it and select the option to craft Steel Ingots. A Steel Ingot is prepared by smelting three Coal and three Iron Ore. This process takes about 45 seconds. Iron Ore can be mined from the various Iron Ore veins scattered throughout Moria, while Coal can be purchased from different vendors or found inside coal deposits within the mines.

After smelting their first Steel Ingot, players unlock the recipe to craft a Steel Hammer.

How To Craft a Steel Hammer in Return to Moria

Crafting a Steel Hammer in Return to Moria is fairly simple. Players require the following materials:

One Hide: Hides be obtained by killing larger animals, such as Stags or Cave Bears roaming the wilderness of Moria. Stags drop two Hides when killed, which can be used for crafting the Steel Hammer.
Two Steel Ingots: Players need six Iron Ore and six Coal to successfully craft two Steel Ingots at the Great Forge of Narvi or the Furnace at their basecamp.
Four pieces of Elven Wood: Elven Wood can be easily obtained by chopping down trees in the Elven Quarter. It is also scattered on the ground in areas where Bears and Stags are typically found.

Once players have gathered the necessary resources, they simply need to find the “Steel Hammer” from the Recipe List and click on the “Craft” button.
