When Return to Moria players first enter the Crystal Descent, they will find themselves in gorgeous caves. When they decide to continue their journey, they will find a broken Mine Hoist on their way. This lift is very important as it is needed to go down to the Crystal Descent and then to the Lower Deeps, the second zone where the brave dwarf will continue their adventures and find many new recipes and materials. However, rebuilding Mine Hoist in LotR: Return To Moria is not easy.

How to Rebuild the Mine Hoist in Return to Moria

Mine Hoist in Return To Moria

Foremost, players need to get to the Crystal Descent to find the Mine Hoist. To achieve this, they have to explore the far rooms of the Western Halls, but it is impossible to show the exact location of the Mine Hoist because the world is generated randomly. But players will immediately know they are in the right place by seeing blue crystals on the walls.

At the top of the Crystal Descent is a lift, which is actually the Mine Hoist that will allow one to go down. Near the Mine Hoist, there is a broken Mapstone, and it is recommended to repair it first, especially since it only takes 20 stones.

To rebuild the Mine Hoist, the following materials are needed:

  • 15 Black Diamonds
  • 20 Elven Wood
  • 30 Natural Fiber

Of these three materials, Black Diamonds are the most difficult to find.

  • Look for a settlement of goblin-men. After the battle with them, break the lantern poles. This way, players can get the Orkish Key that will open the Orkish Chest. Chests are always near settlements and have a high chance of containing Black Diamonds.
  • After players rebuild and use the Great Forge for the first time, they will be attacked by a horde. The loot that will be available after defeating the horde usually contains several Black Diamonds.
  • Most of the Black Diamonds can be obtained from bosses. One of the bosses that players will be able to fight before reaching the Mine Hoist is Bolgakh, which is located in the Mines of Moria.

Elven Wood is a much more common material that can be found throughout Elven Cavern, simply on the ground or by chopping down trees. Natural Fiber can be obtained from Cave Spiders. Their nests are also made of this material.
