When players first get into Secret Mine mansion in Luigi's Mansion 2, they will enter the manor through the Chalet, which will be warm thanks to the warm fire in the fireplace. However, during D-3: Across the Chasm, the window in the upper part of the Chalet was left open, which put out the candles in the chandelier and brought in snow, freezing the elevator underneath the polar bear rug.

This guide will show players how they can restore the fire and bring warmth back to the Chalet in Luigi's Mansion 2 so they descend back down into the Secret Mine and find the gondola access.

How to Restore the Fire in the Chalet

The first step to thawing the elevator in the Chalet is to go up to the upper level and close the window. To do this, gamers must enter the fireplace and interact with it. Once up there, close the window with the Poltergust.

Next, players have to turn the wheel placed on the pillar in front of the fireplace using the Poltergust. This will move the chandelier, which they must elevate until it touches the other chandelier, igniting its candles. Next, bring it back down so it can melt the ice block preventing access to the elevator.

Don't forget to vacuum the snow remanents on the floor if you want to be able to open the elevator door.

How to Find the Gondola Access

Players will find themselves in the Airway after descending the elevator in Chalet. The gondola is located in the Terminal (B1), which means gamers will have to go through Basin, Drift Hall, and lastly, Prospector's Crossing to reach it.

There is a broken mirror in the Terminal, blocking access to the gondola; gamers can break it by setting off the bombs behind it with the Strobulb feature on the Poltergust 5000. As they activate the bombs, more will become visible until the mirror is completely broken.

Unfortunately, once this is done and Luigi attempts to go into the gondola, three ghosts will appear and place chains on the gondola to block its entrance. Players can remove the paranormal chains from the gondola by hunting down each of the crystalized ghosts that placed them. Here is where to find them:

  • Yellow chain: Basin (F1)
  • Red chain: Chalet (B1)
  • Green chain: Smuggler's Hideout (B2)

Once all ghosts have been captured, the chains will disappear, giving players access to the gondola.
