Luma Island is a beautiful game where exploration feels extremely rewarding. There are thousands of Treasure Chests and Secrets riddled all over the map. But when you're gathering supplies from a specific region, the long walk back home can get exhausting.
While at first glance, players might think that Luma Island doesn't have any fast travel mechanic in the game, there is a way to travel to different biomes quickly right from your Farm. Since the process isn't explained clearly, players can play through the entire game without unlocking it. In this guide, we'll give you a complete rundown of how the fast travel system works in Luma Island and how you can unlock it.

Luma Island has 15 different Mysterious Eggs you can find and hatch to grow your Luma collection. Here is where you can find and hatch them.
How To Unlock Fast Travel in Luma Island
To unlock Fast Travel, players must build a Cottage on Luma Island. But before you can build a Cottage, you'll have to find its Blueprint. While most blueprints in the game can be found in the Blueprint Shop in Town, you'll have to go to the Forest biome for this one.
Head to the beach area in the northwestern part of the Forest Zone. You'll see a Golden Chest on an island near a tree. You'll find the Cottage Blueprint inside it. After unlocking the blueprint, you'll find it in the Houses section of your Drawings menu.
Here are the materials you'll need to build the Cottage in Luma Island:

As you can see, most of the resources required to build the Cottage on Luma Island can be found in the Forest biome. So you'll have to spend quite a while exploring the zone picking up crafting materials. Consider upgrading your Copper Pickaxe and Copper Axe a few times to harvest material faster.
You'll also have to help repair Sophia's General Store to unlock the Scaffolding and Cottage Permit for purchase. The Scaffolding costs 500 Gold for each unit while the Cottage Permit costs 1000 Coins. If you've been progressing through your Professions, Coins shouldn't be a big issue for you at this point.
Check out this guide to learn how to repair the General Store.
Once you have all the crafting ingredients in your inventory, head back to your farm, pick a nice spot, and build the Cottage.
How to Use Fast Travel in Luma Island
Luma Island has several biomes that players can explore, and each biome has a separate house blueprint that you can find similar to the Cottage. To unlock fast travel to each biome, you'll have to collect its house blueprint and build it on your Farm. Fast traveling from your Farm to a specific zone will teleport you to the fast travel point in that biome.
The fast travel point in the Forest Biome resembles a stone archway with stone pillars on both sides. You may have already passed by it while exploring the zone.
To fast travel to the Forest, head inside the Cottage on your Farm and use the Trapdoor to go to the basement. You'll notice a glowing green portal in one corner of the basement. Walk up and interact with it. Now you can hold the interact button to teleport to the Forest biome in Luma Island.
Each biome has a house blueprint that you'll have to collect and build to unlock fast travel to that biome.
Whether you're hunting down secrets like the Tepid Offerings, or mining for region-specific resources, unlocking fast travel can make things a lot easier. Even though the Cottage can eat up a big chunk of your resources, it's always worth the investment to make your future trips into the Forest more time-efficient. And as you progress through the other regions, remember to keep an eye out for the other Houses in Luma Island.
