The recent release Lushfoil is more than just a photography simulator, as it allows players to explore a variety of maps, ranging from a rugged valley in Iceland to an abandoned village in China. The majority of the time in each location is spent hiking through the wilderness and seeking out the next breathtaking photography opportunity, but there are other means of exploration.

On some of Lushfoil Photography Sim’s maps, players can find a bicycle to speed through the wilderness, or a boat to cross the water and discover new areas that were previously inaccessible. Speaking with The Best War Games, developer Matt Newell discussed the various means of traveling around the diverse locations in Lushfoil Photography Sim, and the possibilities that arise from them.

Exploring the Landscape

The innovative transport ideas and stunning visuals are part of what attracted the attention of Annapurna Interactive, who agreed to publish Lushfoil. Utilizing these modes of transport allows players to gain the full experience of each area, taking in everything there is to offer on every map. During the interview, Newell pointed out the main reasons for including these different means of traversal.

"The primary idea behind this is to offer keen photographers more ways to experiment with their photography and have a fun way to get around while doing it. But there are also game incentives tied to these items, such as using the boat to reach a new shore."

By using the boat, players can cross open water, something that is otherwise impossible on-foot. This opens up new avenues for photographing the beauty of nature, but it's also tremendous fun and adds plenty of enjoyment to the overall experience.

Finding New Photo Opportunities With Drones

There are many tasks for players to do in each location, and Newell has been creative when coming up with these objectives. Not only can players hike, ride a bike, or sail in a boat to achieve their goals, but they can also use a drone to get a sky-high view and reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Newell stated that players can use the drone "to complete photo objectives that weren't otherwise possible." Apart from that, it’s a fun way to explore and see the world from a new perspective, taking in the spectacular views of nature and experimenting with different cameras.
