How To Play Wordle
In order to play Wordle, word puzzle fans will first need to learn the rules of the game. To make sure they are learning the right rules though, players will need to make sure they are in the right place. The only locations to play the original version of Wordle is the New York Times Crossword App and Games website. Other versions will have different answers than what is listed here.
The first thing new players have to do to start playing Wordle is to choose a first word to use. Here's a little help choosing the right one to get started.
- All Wordle guesses must be five letters long and real word.
- Good starter words have five different common letters in them.
- It's best to avoid both plural nouns ending in S and old Wordle answers; these can be used as guesses, but they won't be the answer.
- The best guesses have at least two different vowels in them.
Type a great starting Wordle word into the grid; press enter. This will cause all the letters of the starter word to change colors, and each of the three colors means something different.
- If a letter turns green, it is right.
- If a letter turns gray, is it incorrect.
- Letters that become yellow are correct, but they are currently located in the wrong position in the word.
Figure out a new word that follows all the rules from the first word, then type that into the second row of the distinctive Wordle grid. This word's letters will also change colors. Keep trying new words until the answer is correctly guessed or players run out of their six guesses.
