Marvel Rivals Anniversary Event Gives Players Premium…

Season 5 is a big one for Marvel Rivals, as the popular hero shooter is celebrating its one-year anniversary on December 6, with big rewards lined up for players. Following a very strong start last December, Marvel Rivals has managed to maintain its momentum nearly a year later, with 5 seasons of content that have been buoyed by unique limited-time events, a constant stream of rewards, and much more.

Season 5 has arrived for Marvel Rivals and could be one of the biggest ones yet as it brings Gambit and Rogue into the playable roster. On November 27, a new game mode called 18v18 Conquest (Annihilation) will also arrive, letting 36 players run wild on the Grand Garden map, while NetEase also confirmed a placement system being added to Competitive. Alongside the new content, Season 5 also marks the game's first anniversary, and it appears that NetEase has plenty of rewards lined up for players.

Marvel Rivals Anniversary Event Start Date

After launching on December 6, 2024, Marvel Rivals has enjoyed tons of success thanks to a constant stream of new content such as playable characters, limited-time game modes, and more. With its first anniversary quickly approaching during Season 5, NetEase is kicking off a special Anniversary Event on November 27, 2025. As a thank you to its community, players can pick up 2,500 units, one of the many currencies in Marvel Rivals, as well as a special legendary Jeff the ~~Land~~ Business Shark costume for free.

With the mid-season update expected sometime mid-December, it stands to reason that this event will only be around for a limited time, so interested players will need to make sure they log in to claim the rewards. With the free currency reward, players will certainly have some purchase options, as Unit prices typically range from 600 for costume recolors to 2,000+ for Legendary ones.

In addition, NetEase showcased a new set of Anniversary costumes that can be acquired as well. The looks range from what NetEase is calling Marvel Rivals-style to community-inspired costumes, and there's even a set of "Cake Party" outfits for characters like Venom, Psylocke, and others. In fact, Doctor Strange's Bleeker Street Strut and Magik's New Millennia Might bundles are already available now in the store. Combined with the 10 additional costumes in the Season 5 Battle Pass for Marvel Rivals, it's clear that players will have a ton of cosmetic options.

Players will have a chance to show off all of their new gear, cosmetics, and costumes with the release of the game's first official non-combat map. Taking inspiration from the friendly meetups that took place on the Doom Match Sanctum Sanctorum map, NetEase created its Marvel version of Times Square where up to 100 players can join together and hang out in the social hub-style space. Players are encouraged to relax, socialize, and just have fun in Times Square, a big change of pace from the traditional modes of Marvel Rivals.
