NetEase Games has released the full patch notes for the latest Marvel Rivals update, which was rolled out on all platforms on August 14. While the recent 3.5 update introduced a new playable character and new match-ups, the newest Marvel Rivals patch is much smaller in scale, addressing some bugs and fixing certain issues impacting some of Hulk and Hela's abilities.
The hefty 3.5 update for Marvel Rivals was released on August 8, introducing the vampire hunter Blade as a new playable character and introducing tons of balance changes and tweaks. While many have generally reacted positively to many of the changes made, the developers have introduced some unwelcome changes to ranked play in Marvel Rivals, specifically preventing players at Platinum and above from participating in five-person squads. Additionally, dedicated players who manage to reach Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All are now only able to queue for Competitive in teams of two. In particular, these changes are proving frustrating to those who play the game with a group of friends.
Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Roadmap Explained
The plans for Season 3.5 of Marvel Rivals were recently made available, with a wide range of exciting content being in store for players.
As revealed on the official Marvel Rivals website, the August 14 patch is now live on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The update, coming hot on the heels of the Marvel Rivals 3.5 patch, largely focuses on fixing several issues impacting Hulk and Hela, including a visual glitch during Hela's Hel Tendrils Team-Up ability. A bug causing Hulk's Incredible Leap to knock down targets protected by Magneto's Metal Bulwark or Hulk's Gamma Shield has been fixed, and several terrain issues causing characters to get stuck have also been addressed. Additionally, players on Xbox Series S will no longer have to worry about Dynamic Sprays appearing blurry when applied, and new bundles will be added to the store on August 15.
The recent 3.5 update also introduced some new disconnect penalties in Marvel Rivals, with more serious offenders facing competitive matchmaking bans. NetEase is also ramping up its in-game chat moderation in an effort to crack down on toxic player behavior, as this has been an ongoing issue in the popular title.
Players currently have the chance to snag a free skin for Star-Lord in Marvel Rivals by tuning in to any Twitch channel streaming the game for four hours total. The promotion is available until September 6, and additionally, fans can earn an Ignite Guangzhou Spray and Ignite Star-Lord Nameplate by watching Marvel Rivals content on the platform for 1 hour and 1.5 hours, respectively.
